YOU KNOW WHEN THE DAY STARTS WITH A POUNDING HEAD AND YOU JUST KNOW ITS NOT GONNA BE A GOOD DAY? The sun is way too bright for October and the noises are way too loud to be normal. Everything feels like it's closing down on you, like the world is shrinking but you're not shrinking with it. Clothes cling to your body like a second skin as the heat of the room melts you down.
Maddison was feeling all of that and more as she lay in her bed with her hands running through her hair as hammers struck against the inside of her head again and again. Fisting her blonde strands of hair in her fists, Maddison groaned as the sun continued to beam through the blinds of her window.
The past few weeks had been rough and long for the whole band of friends, but even harsher for Maddison. She'd stayed up for nights writing new songs, changing old ones that she didn't like anymore, editing them, rewriting them when they weren't to someone's liking. All of that with almost no breaks was really burning her out.
So, she decided to go out for a small 'break' and have a few drinks. A few turned into a lot and now here she was suffering the consequences of her actions. She forgets that being a lightweight unfortunately runs in the family.
"Mads! You up?" She heard someone call from behind her poster-covered door before it cracked open, bringing more annoying light into the dark room. She pulled her pillow over her head to block out the light as whoever was at the door stepped into the dark room. "Mads, come on. You can't lay around all day, we have to practise and Arthur's not gonna let you have another day off."
"Arthur can fuck off, my head hurts," Mads grumbled as she pulled the pillow tighter over her head. She felt the bed dip beside her as someone sat down before she grumbled when a heavy body flopped onto her bed, annoyingly close. "Leo, I'm not in the mood right now- "
She grunted in surprise when she felt a rather heavy body lay itself on top of her like a weighted blanket. Wriggling around, she managed to twist her body around to meet the dark eyes of her boyfriend, Leo, who was staring at her with a mischievous grin on his face. She knew he had no ill intention in doing it, but he always enjoyed slightly pushing her buttons sometimes. It didn't bother her though, she knew he was just trying to be funny.
"Lee, I swear to God if you are on me for more than 5 more seconds, I will burn your entire collection of Kiss albums," Maddison grumbled as she tried to crawl her way out from under him until she felt his arms encircle around her waist making it harder for her to move. "I'm not joking, I will do it, Leo Edwin Marshall."
"Ooh, full name. You must be mad, especially with the middle name I should have never told you," He chuckled as he finally rolled off of her. He reached over and lifted the pillow covering her face, holding back a wince at her rough appearance. Yesterday's makeup was smudged down her face and he could see where some of the makeup had wiped off onto her pillow. He pulled the pillow off of her head before assisting her into a sitting position. "But seriously though, Arthur really needs us to rehearse today since we bailed on it yesterday because somebody wanted to go out instead."
