Once the kids were in bed and dinner things cleared away, Brendon and Louise went and sat out in their backyard. It was a lovely evening. Brendon sat on the patio couch. Louise sat on the other one. They talked and looked at the stars. Louise went to sit with Brendon after a while and cuddled into him. He kissed the top of her head.
"I love you, Mrs Urie."
"I love you, Mr Urie."
They then decided to go to bed, where they made up for lost time.

A couple of weeks later, it was nearly their 5th wedding anniversary. Louise's mother, Edith, came to visit, and she brought Louise's brother Richard along too. The kids lived having their grandmother and uncle there.
For their wedding anniversary, Louise and Brendon were having a couple of nights away in Carmel, up the coast.
On the morning of the trip, Brendon was putting their bags into the car. They had a Mazarati that rarely got used. Louise was playing with the kids whilst Edith fixed their breakfast. Richard was still sleeping.
"Lou, we need to get going." Brendon said, coming in. He picked Nico up and hugged him.
"Now you be a good boy for grandma and look after your little sister." Brendon said to his son. Nico nodded and hugged his father again. Louise then hugged Nico. Poppy came up to Louise, and she hugged and kissed her mother.
"Mommy, be back soon?" She asked.
"I will be, baby girl." Louise replied, a lump in her throat. This would be the longest time she would spend away from the kids since they were born.
Brendon lifted Poppy up and kissed her on the cheek.
"You be a good girl for grandma princess." He said. Poppy laid he head on Brendons shoulder.
"Yea, Daddy," she said and kissed his cheek. Brendon set Poppy back down and said goodbye to Edith.
Brendon and Louise headed to the garage.

They arrived at the place where they were staying. It was a big hotel, but it had private beach houses as well.
The valet went to park the car whilst Brendon went to check in. Louise took her sunglasses off and took in the surroundings. There were some breathtaking views around here.
"Ready babe?" Brendon asked, coming up behind her.
"Huh? Yea, sure." The bell boy had their bags.
They went out of the hotel and turned left. Brendon took hold of Louise's hand and smiled at her.
They arrived at one of the private beach houses. Brendon unlocked the door, and Louise went in first. It was beautiful inside. The lounge and kitchen area were open plan, with a breakfast bar. The bedroom was huge, with a queen sized bed. The bathroom was ensuite with a huge bath.
"Wow," Louise breathed out, taking everything in. She went to the door to the house and looked out at the beach. It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky. The sun was golden.
Brendon tipped the bell boy, and he left. Brendon came and slipped his arms around Louise's waist and kissed her neck.
"Bren, this is wonderful," Louise murmured.
"So are you." Brendon turned her around and kissed her. " It's nice to kiss you without a child wanting our attention." He chuckled.
"Yea. It's nice to do this. " Louise kissed her husband,"and not be interrupted."
They went into the bedroom and bathroom to look around. Louise put her arms around Brendons neck and kissed him again. The kiss deepened and got more passionate. Louise turned around and pulled her dress up. Brendon went to do that he normally would when the kids were home. Then he stopped.
"Baby," He said,"we don't have to rush anything for the next few days. We can take our time over everything." Louise turned back around and realised that what her husband was saying was true.
Brendon kissed Louise gently. His hands in her hair. He guided them both to the bed. They laid down together and just enjoyed each other slowly and tenderly.

Brendon woke up early the next morning. It was their wedding anniversary today. 5 years since Louise and he became Mr and Mrs. He smiled to himself as he used the bathroom and went to put a pot of coffee on. As he waited for it to brew, he went back into the bedroom and rooted through the bedside table. He pulled out a card and a ring box and placed them on the pillow, next to Louise.
Louise yawned and stretched out as she opened her eyes. She looked over at Brendons side of the bed, and it was empty except for a card and ring box. Louise smiled and opened the card first.

My darling Louise,
Thank you for these 5 wonderful years. Thank you for our gorgeous children.
Most of all, thank you for taking everything in your stride. I appreciate all you do for our family.

I love you

Brendon x

Louise had a tear in her eye after reading that. She opened the ring box, and there was an eternity ring. It had an emerald and diamond setting. It was gorgeous and very much Louise's style. Louise put it on her ring finger along with her wedding band and engagement ring.
She got up and slipped her robe on. Louise used the bathroom and returned to the bedroom. She went into her bag and also had a card and box.
Brendon sat outside the beach house at the table and chairs. He was sipping coffee. Louise walked through the house and up to Brendon. He looked up at her.
"Good morning, gorgeous." Brendon said to Louise, taking his sunglasses off. "Happy Anniversary"
"Happy Anniversary, Bren," Louise kissed him and handed him the card and box.
Brendon, like Louise, opened the card first and read it.

Brendon,
You are the reason my heart beats so wildly. You are the reason that the past 5 years have been so wonderful.

I love you

Lou x

Brendon opened the box, and there was a watch. It was a portofino automatic. It had a tan strap and looked very retro.
"Wow, babe, thank you." Brendon took it out of the box.
"Look at the back," Louise said.
Brendon turned the watch over and engraved on the back was part of their wedding vows.

In these coming years
Many things will change
But the way I feel
Will remain the same

Lay us down

Brendon stood up and kissed Louise.
"I love it, thank you." Brendon had a tear in his eye.
"Thank you for my eternity ring" Louise said. She sipped her coffee and went back into the house. Brendon followed to top up his coffee. There was a knock at the door.
"Room service!"
Brendon opened the door, and they waiter brought their breakfast. "Complimentary champagne and strawberries Sir Madam. Happy Anniversary from Monterey  luxury hotel and spa."
"Thank you." Brendon and Louise said together.
