Louise was taken to the emergency room. The hospital social worker took care of Poppy. Poppy was terrified. She didn't know what to do. She wanted her Mama, but Mama was hurt. And where were Daddy and Nico?
The kind lady took her to a room with toys and books. There was also paper and crayons. Poppy toddled over to the drawing table. She picked a Crayon up and started Colouring the paper. It soon turned blue and green.
Louise was laid on a hospital gurney, unable to move. She was immobilised. She could hear her own breathing, which was hitching up, the longer it took to find her son. The nurses were putting Ivs in her arm. Doctors were examining Louise. She tried to focus on what they were saying to her. All she could think about was her children and Brendon. She kept expecting Brendon to walk in any second holding Nico.

Brendon was still on the road. All that could be seen was the training wheel of Nicos bike underneath the car tyre. Brendon was beside himself. His beautiful boy, he couldn't bear to think about the outcome. The fire rescue was looking underneath the car.
"I found something!"one of them said. He stood up, and he was holding Nicos
blue sneaker in his hand. Brendon let out a sob. He turned away. As he turned, he heard someone calling his name. It was Spencer with Dan.
"Hey man!" Spencer said and hugged Brendon. Dan followed suit.
"Pete called us. I have no idea how he knew." Spencer explained. Dan shrugged, too.
Brendon stood there. Spencer had his arm around Brendons shoulder. Brendon hadn't realised he was crying.
"Spence! Dan!" It was Annie. Her and Spencer were married now. Annie was pregnant with their first baby. "Omg, Bren, what the hell?"
"I dunno Annie. I really don't know." Brendon shrugged.
"What about Poppy and Louise?" Dan asked.
"Poppy's physically ok. Louise was taken to the ER, and Poppy went with her." Brendon explained. "Lou wanted me to stay here until they found Nico."
Just then, Brendons phone went. It was Edith. Brendon walked away to talk to her.

Louise was finally cleared of any spinal or neck injuries. She did sustain a sprained ankle, though.
The ER Dr found something else running the tests. Louise was only half listening. Poppy was toddling towards Louise. Louise was still on a gurney, but sitting up now.
"Hey, baby girl." Louise said. The nurse lifted Poppy up, and she laid against her mothers chest sucking her thumb. Poppy hadn't done that for a long time. She had stopped sucking her thumb about 6 months ago.
"Mrs Urie, we need to bandage your foot up," the nurse informed her.
"Ok," Louise said, stroking her daughters hair. She felt Poppy get heavier. She had fallen asleep. Louise laid back a little on the gurney as her daughter slept. That's when she saw her husband walking along with the paramedics. They had a gurney, and on that gurney was their son. He wasn't moving and was having his breathing help. Louise cried out when she saw them. The nurse looked at Louise.
"Mrs Urie, are you ok?" He asked.
Louise was crying again. "That was my husband with our son." She explained.
"Let me just finish this, and I will go and see what I can find out."
"Thank you." Louise replied.
Louise just sat there holding a sleeping Poppy, wondering if their son would be OK.

Brendon was pacing as the fire crew worked to get to Nico. They raised the car using special air bags. As soon as that was done, they had visual of Nico.
"Thank God!" Annie said. The thing was, Nico was very still. The fire crew pulled Nico out from under the car. The paramedics started working on him immediately. Checking his vitals, they got a faint pulse.
"Let's go!" One of them said. Brendon climbed into the ambulance with his son.
"We will see you there!" Dan called after Brendon. Brendon didn't know if he nodded in response or not. He was dazed and didn't know what to expect once they got yo the hospital.
"Howie, hurry!" Hen said. "He's barely breathing. Hen started doing cpr. Then she intubated Nico and kept on with the air bag. Squeezing it every few seconds. The ride to the hospital felt like it had taken hours for them to arrive. The ambulance doors opened, and Nico was rushed through the ER to a trauma room.
Brendon went with them, unsure what else to do but be with his son. He stood back in the trauma room, letting the Dr's help his son. A nurse came over to him and got Nicos details.
Then they were on the move with Nico again, once he had been stabilised.
"Hes going up to CT." Thr nurse explained. "Most likely he will need surgery."
"Um yea." Brendon said. "I need to find my wife. She's also here with our daughter." Brendon knew Louise would be anxious for news.
"Sure. What's her name?" The nurse asked. Brendon gave Louise's details, and the nurse put them into the tablet.
"Ah, this way." The nurse took Brendon out of the trauma room and around to where Louise still was with a sleeping Poppy.
"Bren!" Louise cried out, and immediately Brendon held his wife.
"Is-is Nico.....is Nico?" Louise couldn't even get the words out.
Brendon realised what Louise was trying to ask.
"No baby. He's been taken up for a CT. He could possibly need surgery."
"Surgery? He's so little!" Louise was starting to spiral and get hysterical again.
"Shhhh." Brendon tried to soothe.
This was when Spencer, Annie and Dan turned up.
"How's Nico?" Annie asked.
"He's have a CT scan done." Brendon replied. Annie hugged Louise.
"Do you want us to take Poppy?" Spencer asked.
"Could you?" Louise asked, sniffing.
As if Poppy could sense she was being spoken about, she started to stir. She yawned and opened her eyes.
"Daddy"Poppy said and reached to Brendon. Brendon picked her up and cuddled her.
"Hey there princess, would you like to go and play with Spencer and Dan?" Brendon asked her.
Poppy nodded. Spencer put his hands out and Poppy went to him.
"So what would you like to do first?" Dan asked her.
"Can we play horsey?"
"Sure we can!" Dan said and off they went. There's food and diapers, also beer, so help yourselves." Brendon said as they left, to go back to Brendons house.
