I wrote this fic in Hungarian and translated it into English. Please be kind to me about my English grammar.
Thank you! :)______________________________________
"NO, I DO NOT AGREE TO THIS!" I shouted angrily, but neither Professor McGonagall nor Kingsley Shacklebolt, the new Minister of Magic, were impressed by my protest. "I was legally acquitted by the court and from now on they have no right to rummage through my personal belongings or check my wand!" I foamed with rage. "I don't care what they say! Leave me alone!"
Just two days ago, my eighth and last school year started here at Hogwarts and I was already called to the headmaster's office and told that I was being put under observation...
"Mr. Malfoy, you are in no position to make demands," warned the minister. "You were acquitted of the most serious charges, yes. But don't forget that you are on six months of suspended probation, and we'll have to monitor your behaviour during that time. If you behave properly during the next semester, all charges will be dropped against you for good, I promise!" assured Shacklebolt. "Otherwise, Draco, if you have nothing to hide, what are you afraid of ?!" the older wizard looked at me with narrowed eyes.
I swallowed nervously and avoided his eyes.
I preferred not to say anything, as I had many secrets to hide...
I didn't even tell my best friends some of my secrets, and now I'm supposed to let a wild stranger dig into them and, worst of all, expose them?!
I will not let this go!
I have to figure something out!
"Mr. Malfoy, consider this request from the court as a precaution for your own sake and that of your fellow students." changed the headmistress's tone to a more pleasant one, while thoughtfully pushing up her characteristic glasses on her nose. "You have nothing to fear, I can assure you of that! It would simply be that a fellow student preparing for an Auror career looks around in your room once a week to search for prohibited devices or potions. Your personal belongings will not be harmed!" she smiled at me encouragingly. "In addition, he quickly runs his wand through the Prior Incantato spell, which shows him in reverse order what spells you had performed with it." the Headmistress looked at me calmly, as if we were discussing the result of yesterday's Quidditch match. "If he sees no reason for suspicion, then of course he won't harass you, I can promise you that."
What?!
"A fellow student? Why not a Ministry Auror?!" I stared at the Headmistress in shock. "A ministerial auror is fine, I allow it, but for it to be a Hogwarts student, I damn well don't agree. You know, I have rights too!" I shouted out of myself again.
I jumped up from my chair and started pacing.
"Whoever I get will certainly not be impartial, considering that everyone here knows my past and my former arrogant and prejudiced behaviour. They hate me properly because of it too..." I argued bitterly. "How can you guarantee to me that your assigned student will not create evidence against me so that he can muddle me this time in front of the court that they will surely convict me?!"
Kingsley Shacklebolt slowly stood up and walked over to me. His hand weighed on my shoulder like a heavyweight.
"Mr. Malfoy, I understand your concern, but you are still a Hogwarts student, even though you are considered an adult," he explained. "And the professional aurors have no authority to interfere in the school's affairs..."
"Then authorize them to do Minister!" I spread my arms in confusion. He's the fucking Minister of Magic, isn't he?!
It would cost just his one word...
What's so hard about that?!
