Aerilon shined, the small village's inhabitants reveling in its state of what they'd call 'full bloom'. Unique footsteps of the locals and travelers alike drifted along the rugged and rocky roads; their attention far from the weathered homes that nature had begun to claim. Instead, their eyes scoured the endless wave of luxuries and delicacies presented on the many stalls of the village's plaza.

New and distinctive voices stacked on top of one another, creating a melting pot of voices while the children ran loose. Some were skillful in their act of slipping through the many cracks of the ever-moving crowd, as if it were a dance.

"This way, come on!" A white-haired girl laughed as she weaved throughout the passing people on the road, leaving behind two boys that followed her. Though, she had to stop when an abrupt gust of air forced the silver fox ears atop her head to twitch. Swiftly, she held her sky blue sundress in place, hearing her leather sandals scraping the ground as she spun on her heel. Her fox tail swayed with the winds behind her.

Light reflected off shining golden orbs in her eyes as she stared at the duo chasing after her. One, clad in a green tunic with a pair of standard gray pants and brown boots, made it to her with little to no trouble.

On the other hand, the second boy donning a similar outfit was a member of the group unable to maneuver through the hordes on the road. Shoulder slammed into shoulder, stumbling his way forward.

"Hey! If you're going to be running through like that, at least watch where you're going!" Someone yelled at him as the boy spun around, his purple tunic slightly disheveled and untidy.

"I'm..." He quietly muttered as he adjusted his glasses, only to watch the person already walking off. A slight grimace decorated his face as a sigh escaped his lips while he regrouped with the two others waiting for him. "Sorry."

"You know, if you played outside with us more, you'd be able to do that, Jon." The girl commented, grinning brightly at the incoming boy.

"Hm? What do you mean? I always go outside with you and everyone." Purple tunic frowned. "Like, every time."

Green scoffed, looking at him. "Hiding under a tree and reading a book doesn't count."

"Mhm, and last I checked, that doesn't make you better at dodging in tag." The girl laughed.

"Uh-huh, no thanks." The boy, 'Jon', waved off before adjusting the thin gray framed glasses on his face. "I doubt I have a choice though... Shia would probably just drag me in anyways after a while."

"Wha-? I would never! Right?" The girl pouted, looking at Green once more. He swiftly turned his head, humming quietly to himself. "Kory?"

"I can lie if that's what you want, Shia, but we all know Jon's telling the truth." 'Kory' commented, a small smirk on his face as Shia pouted, punching his arm.

"Buncha bullies, I swear!" She huffed. "Can't believe I'm friends with a couple of jerks."

"You're very welcome." Jon joked with a light yawn as they began to walk, studying the decorated stalls. "Ergh... I'm still sleepy." He rubbed his eyes as he followed along.

"We could've let you sleep in, but you'd wake up when the festival was over." Kory commented.

"Yeah, imagine how sad my dad would've been, hearing you didn't show up to see what he's been working on?" Shia added further. "Why are you even sleeping in at this time anyways? I know you sleep late, but this is starting to get crazy. Kory's not even anywhere near as bad as you."

"I don't believe you." Jon huffed, his arms crossed.

Kory scoffed. "I was actually awake when Shia came by, not a sack of potatoes in a bed like you."
