Karishma

"Hey, Have you met the new trainee?" asked Sasha.

"It was a brief introduction. Celene asked me to train her this week." I said while changing into work clothes.

Sasha laughed and said, "Good luck with that, Girl!"

"Why? Is she one of those who think they are too good to work in a restaurant? "

"No! She is a smart ass and gets everything quickly; it will be easy to train her. But the girl is hot. " Sasha paused, waiting for my response or any sign of acknowledgment.

Upon getting no reaction, she added, "Woman! I am straight, and I can easily fantasize about her instead of my man. " Her voice trailed off as she began drifting off in her thoughts. "Oh no...the visuals. She is good, Karishma," she winked, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "She is so good."

I smirked, raising an eyebrow,  "You sure you are not into girls?"

"oh! I wish. Staying with a Man is so difficult. They are such a child and dumb. Men are dumb." Sasha kept her bag in her locker. "Anyways, the point being....how are you going to train her without giving in to the overwhelming urge to pin her down and take her?"

"Woah, woah! Sasha," I chided at her comment. "You are so graphic. No such urges would be there. " I closed my locker and went to clock in.

She laughed mockingly and said, "We'll see, Karishma... we'll see..."

She is right, though. How am I gonna train her? My brain forgets words when I see her. And don't get me started on my fucking chest. It acts like my heart has momentarily forgotten how to beat properly.

I am just gonna avoid looking straight at her. That's a great idea.

As I went to the front to check if we had everything in stock for the opening, my eyes fell on Haseena coming my way. Her hair was scattered and being played by the wind. Her eyes: bright and full of life. Taking headphones off and......is she looking at me? Did she waive? And smiled? at me? Why?

"Good Morning, Karishma. I am pleased to start my day with you. "

oh! right! She knows you. You will train her. Of course, she was doing a common courtesy, waving at me.

"Morning! Sasha told you about the Time clock and lockers. Right? "

she nodded yes.

"Good! Please meet me here when you are clocked in."

Shit! I could have asked her about her weekend or how she's been. Just straight to the point like a fucking robot.

Relax! Don't think much.

I watched her go to the employee's area, and man! Sasha is right. It's going to be difficult.

*******************

It's not that busy today, which is good for Haseena. She will have enough time on her hands to practice rolling a burrito. It's tricky for first-timers. And I have been very quiet, just uttering very minimal words while instructing her. I think it will be better this way. I think I need some time.  I don't know anything about her. It's foolish to feel this way about someone you don't know.

Remember what Alain de Button said, "It isn't their charms that are keeping us magnetized; it is our lack of knowledge of their flaws." I am sure I will be over this tsunami sooner or later, and the shore will return to where it belongs.
