Reader's POV

Diego and I have been talking a while now, he's been filling me in on everything. However, i felt bad and most of all guilty, hearing about everything and all he went through. And I wasn't able to help him but just hear all his pain.

Although, I got to admit, that now more than ever has it been the hardest to keep myself together. And really all I could hear was my father's words....

'You are and always will be the biggest flaw and disappointment in this family, Number Eight. YOU HAVE NO PURPOSE!!'

His words hit hard. They hurt. And they have haunted me for the past years, constantly repeating inside my head, again and again and again!

'I have no purpose...'

But I couldn't start crying about that now. I am finally seeing my family, after 17 years. After all the pain and suffering...I can finally see them without it being a dream. Though, it was hard to keep myself from not showing much emotion.

'Showing emotion Number Eight, is just a sign of weakness. NEVER LET ANYONE KNOW YOUR WEAKNESS, NEVER!'

I sigh, even now that he's dead, his words still haunt me.

"Eight?" Diego's voice called, snapping me back into reality.

"You good?" He asked, his expression filled with concern.

"Couldn't be better!" I replied, plastering another fake smile, though I knew he knew I was hiding something.

And that was the reason I knew Diego knew  was hiding something. I could read him like a book, well...mostly cause I'm telepathic. But even then I personally think I'm an expert at reading people's
"Right, forgot about that," he responded, he fixed his position on my bed so he was now fully looking at me. Probably because he was going to try and study my facial expressions when he asked me the question. But, I'd be surprised if he would even be able to read me. He was never able to, not even when we were kids.

"Why do you look 16?" He questioned, catching me off guard since I expected him to ask me what I was hiding. Guess he didn't forget I was telepathic. Sneaky little bastard.

Though before I could answer Klaus barged in, not even knocking. I mean for fucks sake, do they not know what knocking even is?!

"OH MY GOD!" Klaus exclaimed, he to looking at me the same expression Diego did when he first saw me. In disbelief.

"EIGHT!" He yelled, causing me to cringe a little bit as my body still hasn't fully adjusted to loud noses and such. Though before I could even complain he wrapped his arms around me.

I awkwardly hugged back, the scent of cigarettes and alcohol filling my sense of smelling.

"I've missed you as well, Klaus," I said letting a slight smile form on my face.

Though, from all the rokus Klaus had made, it alarmed the rest of my siblings to come running in. Them to with expressions of shock, disbelief, and joy.

"You're awake..." Vanya said.

3rd POV

Number One, cleared his throat awkwardly as all his siblings sat around him, looking at him with all their attention...except for Diego and Eight who had been making a bet on what Luther was going to say.

"20 bucks it's going to be on dad's death," Eight whispered to Diego.

"Deal!" Diego replied as the two shook hands, Eight winking at Diego before hearing out what their dear old brother had to say.
