"Hmph! This place is full of spiderwebs! They're in my way!" Inosuke shouted, swinging his sword haphazardly.
"While I must agree, I do wish you would be more mindful of where you are swinging that thing," I say, narrowing my eyes slightly as he barely missed the side of my head.
"Yeah..." Tanjiro says, seemingly lost in thought.
I know that none of us are supposed to die, and we're to be rescued by a couple of Hashira, what happens since I'm here, hmm?
"That we do not know. But it certainly nothing good will come of it."
Even if I were to die here?
"... That is an exception."
Ah, but you forget that the trio will be truamatized.
"Damn you! Just die already!"
Such vulgar language, I expected better from you scriptors.
"Yami?!" Tanjiro asks, his hand waving in front of my face with a worried expression on his.
"H-huh? What's wrong?"
"We were calling your name over and over, but you just kept walking with your head down! Are you alright?" Tanjiro asks, his hands moving to rest on her shoulders subconsciously.
"Yeah, sorry I was just... thinking."
"Right, well—" Tanjiro suddenly stops, spotting something behind me.
I turn to see a boy, around our age if not a few years older, cowering behind a few shrubs. When Tanjiro runs up to him, I have no choice but to follow, begrudgingly, but follow nonetheless.
"Hello! I'm Tanjiro Kamado," Said boy starts, "Rank Mizunoto. I and my comrades have come to help!"
The boy seems a bit shocked, his eyes widening while muttering something beneath his breath.
"Not a Hashira?! No matter how many Mizunoto come, it won't make a difference! There's no point! You might as well turn back n—"
When I turned to look at the boy, he had a face full of fist. Inosuke punched him in the face, resulting in the boy getting interrupted and Tanjiro having a priceless look on his face.
"Hurry up and explain the situation! If you want to talk about useless things, let's start with your existence!" Inosuke said, pulling the boy by the hair and getting up in his face.
"A-A crow brought an order sending ten corps members up the mountain! Not long after, they- they started killing each other! Most of them were killed, but they're still attacking somehow!"
An odd creaking sound resonated in the forest, right before an unconscious corps member swung her sword, almost slicing my head off. I jump back, evading each of her swings.
Dammit! If I kill them, my relationship with Tanjiro will deplete, but if I save them already, they will get suspicious...
The sound of boisterous laughter filled my ears as I snapped out of my thoughts.
"These guys are all idiots! They don't know it's against corps rules to fight each other!" Inosuke laughed.
"They are moving strangely... I think something's controlling them!" Tanjiro realized, fending off a male slayer.
"Good! That means I can cut them up!"
"No don't! Some of them are still alive, and we mustn't defile our comrades' corpses!"
"How about instead of arguing, we find a way to fend off these fatuous beings," I say, swinging my sword harshly, throwing the slayer backwards and on the ground.
Tanjiro suddenly whips around, swinging his katana right above a slayer's back, effectively removing the strings.
"The threads! Cut the threads!"
"Of course! I knew that before you!" Inosuke laughs, hopping above multiple slayers and cutting the strings off their backs, resulting in them falling flat on their faces.
After a few minutes of trying and failing, we came to the decision that, despite being the problem, killing the spiders wasn't the way to go. While trying to recollect ourselves and make a plan, a sudden sound of almost tapping on glass was heard.
We all look up to see a child-like demon staring down at us, seemingly floating. I, however, know that he is, instead, standing on strings in the shape of an 'X', as well as the demon being known as Rui, Lower-Moon five.
"Don't disturb the peaceful life of our family." He said, eyeing Tanjiro. His eyes then travel to the boy, then Inosuke, then to me.
With a slight gasp and a widening of his eyes, his stare lingers over my form for a moment, before a small smirk works its way to my face. I put my index finger to my lips in a shushing manner, before lowering it and glaring at him as if nothing had happened. With a slight shake of his head and a close of his eyes, his glare returns and he continues speaking.
"Mother will not hesitate to kill you, so take the chance I'm giving you to leave."
Just as Inosuke jumps up to swipe at Rui, he walks along the threads, disappearing.
"I don't think that boy is the demon!" Tanjiro starts, deflecting another attack. " So first—"
"Yeah, yeah, I know! I gotta find where the demon is! You never shut up." Inosuke says, saying the last part a bit under his breath.
"Beast Breathing, Seventh Form: Spatial Awareness."
