(Threa)
I stood at the bottom of the common room stairs pulling my fingers anxiously waiting for Ominis.
I had hoped that I'd have gained some clarity on what last night meant after getting some sleep, but Sharps sleeping potion knocked me clear out. I had no nightmare, no dreams of peace, nothing. Honestly not sure if that is a blessing or not, but after Sebastians letter I don't think I could mentally take much more of this.
I still can't believe he wrote me. Months of silence and seeing my name in the Prophet elicits a response. He has plagued Ominis and Anne with letters all summer and I couldn't even get one. I almost died for that man; you'd think he'd at least reach out more than this!
I wonder what Ominis will think of the letter. He said he saw Sebastian over the summer.... That he changed. He's still being strange whenever I ask about him... Maybe after we talk about this almost kiss, he can finally let me know what happened.
"You know if you keep pacing like that you'll burrow into the floor," Sirius Black mocked from the couch making me roll my eyes. "What's got you so bothered Longbottom?"
"Not now Black," I grumbled, continuing my anxious strides.
"Oh, come now, where is that chipper personality? You usually are the more insufferable sorts in the morning. Dementor steal your smile?"
I rolled my eyes again feeling my hands grow sweaty while the clock continued to tick. We're going to be late to breakfast again if he doesn't hurry. What could be keeping him?
"Still waiting for Gaunt," the nobleman asked moving in closer.
"We're supposed to walk to breakfast together."
"If all you need is an escort, I'd be more than willing to take you myself."
"That will not be necessary Sirius," I spit back more than intended feeling my stomach drop. I hope Ominis isn't having a nightmare, his are worse than mine.
The raven-haired boy snorted shaking his head as he chomped on an apple studying my form curiously. I shifted a bit uneasily under his stare.
"Can I help you with something," I exasperate making him chuckle.
"Merlin, I have missed your spunk."
"I barely even spoke to you last year. You've hardly anything to miss."
He snorted, taking another loud bite as my stomach growled. Merlin, I'm hungry. I stupidly left dinner without eating yesterday to hunt down Ominis. I wonder if he ate at all last night. More reason to go drag him out of his dorm!
"True, but you did speak to Mels," he pointed out stepping in closer face growing softer. "H-how is she?"
"What?"
"Imelda? How is she doing," he asked gently. He must be fucking joking.
"Why is she any of your concern. Did you not dump her over her blood status this summer," I spit annoyed.
"I remember," he growled. "That doesn't mean I no longer care about her," his jaw clenched averting my curious eyes. "I just need to know if she's alright... I... Heard the things Hobhouse said about you two.... It wasn't right."
"It wasn't, but it's been handled. You needn't worry about her."
"Heh, I heard Gaunt had handled it. Must say I was shocked to hear the news. Personally, I always thought Ominis was all bark, vicious with his words but he never dared bite.... Though, I guess now that Sallows gone, he's gonna have to be his own attack dog now. With how Dale's been crying, I doubt anyone will dare bother you again," he pauses. "Rumor is Sharp awarded Ominis with a nice shiny Prefect title for punching Hobhouse's face in."
