Chapter 8 | Remus' Secret

Luna's heart pounded with trepidation as she approached Sirius in the Gryffindor common room. She had been carrying this secret for what felt like an eternity, and now, she knew she had to unburden herself.

"Sirius, can I talk to you for a moment?" Luna's voice quivered slightly, betraying her nerves.

Sirius looked up from his book, his eyes curious as he noticed the seriousness etched on Luna's face. "Of course, Luna. What's on your mind?" he replied, setting aside his reading.

Taking a deep breath, Luna steeled herself for what she was about to say. "It's about Remus," she began, her voice barely above a whisper.

Sirius's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Remus? What about him?" he asked, leaning forward slightly, his interest piqued.

Luna hesitated for a moment before plunging ahead. "He...he likes you, Sirius," she confessed, her words hanging heavy in the air.

Sirius's eyes widened in surprise, his mind reeling at the revelation. "Remus likes me?" he repeated, his voice tinged with disbelief.

Luna nodded, her gaze steady as she met Sirius's incredulous stare. "Yes, he does," she affirmed, her heart racing with uncertainty.

For a moment, silence enveloped them as Sirius processed Luna's words, his thoughts racing a mile a minute. He had never considered the possibility that Remus might harbor feelings for him, and the realization left him feeling both stunned and bewildered.

"Thank you for telling me, Luna," Sirius finally spoke, his voice tinged with a mix of gratitude and confusion. "I...I need some time to think about this."

Sirius took a seat beside him, his heart pounding in his chest. "Luna told me something," he began, his words hesitant. "She said...she said that you like me."

Remus's cheeks flushed pink, and he looked away, unable to meet Sirius's gaze. "It's true, Sirius," he admitted softly. "I've liked you for a long time."

Sirius's heart skipped a beat at Remus's confession, and he reached out to gently tilt Remus's chin, forcing him to look into his eyes. "Remus, I like you too," Sirius confessed, his voice barely above a whisper. "I always have."

A rush of emotions washed over Remus, relief mingling with disbelief as he stared at Sirius, searching for any sign of deception. But all he found was sincerity and longing in Sirius's gaze, and his heart swelled with hope.

"Sirius, do you mean that?" Remus asked, his voice trembling with uncertainty.

Sirius nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Yes, Remus, I do," he replied, his voice filled with conviction. "And I was wondering...if you'd like to be my boyfriend?"
