" who's my real dad?" My mother looks up at me with tears refilling her eyes.

"Unfortunately your dad is leading a war with the broken souls who are living creatures that look normal to the eye but in reality where born with half their souls stolen and replaced with half a demons. They are the reason that we sent you away to a safety house because they where in the verge of invading us and still pose a threat but are being tamed back by your father." I just look at her in confusion.

First there are vampires then there are demonic parasites then guardians now there are broken souls? It is so much to let sink in but I still need to know what the world really is.

  "A war?" I ask confused.

"Yes, since we are royals and have the purest blood in our line these demonics seek to obtain our blood. Our blood is a powerful source and if given to them it can lead to their success in world domination." I start to understand why I always felt distant with my guardian parents. Despite such horrific information due with my blood being number one on a demons list of beverages, I put aside my horror and continued to process all the information.

"But why don't I have eyes like yours yet or feel like a vampire? To me I feel completely normal what so ever."

"It's because the spell that our friend or should say your aunt has placed upon you won't wear of until your 14 but your abilities won't all set in until your 15 and your eyes will change once you have received all your powers."

Great so I will be depending on blood instead of depending on Starbucks. Great. Just. Great.

"What about Julian?" I ask as I quiver to the sound of his name.

"He isn't a broken soul, he no longer has any soul but in its place is the essence of a demonic parasite which is soulless as well. Now that your protective shield will start to wear of his desire to kill you will only grow. Once he smells the true royal in you he will not hesitate. I understand that ending anyone's life is inhumane but that thing is the prime example of inhumane. I suggest we execute him as soon as possible." She states with anger beginning to fill her of what that man or thing had done to me for so long.

"So that's why my scar healed so quick ? Can I heal myself?" I question as I look to catch her gaze.

"No. You aren't capable of that yet. Someone had to heal you." She says but tries to avoid my gaze.

"Why dont you look at me?" I say as I pull her gaze my way.

"Because you might not like what I'm about to say next." She says with hesitance.

"What is it?" I ask nervously.

"In order to heal you someone was supposed to give you a blood offering but not just any offering it had to be from a royal line."

"From this family?"

"No from a close friend of mine. Her son was close enough to stop by and you would have had scars and permanent damage to your vitals so we called him over."

"And? So what? I'm healed. What's the big deal?"

"The deal is that he is now your soul protector. He shared his blood with you so know he is bound to you. Even before he gave the offering he told me that you might be his mate but he doesn't know for sure due to the fact that your essence is human and can't bind and confirm it yet."

"What is exactly a soul protector despite the obvious meaning?"

"A soul protector is one who will forever be connected to you through emotion so whenever you feel threatened he will be there within minutes. He is also one who will do whatever to protect your soul even if it means giving up his own. He will go to any extent to keep you safe. He is like your guardian angel in a sense."

"So let me get this straight. I'm a vampire princess that is going to always have to fear demonics taking blood for world domination and might possibly have a mate and soul protector that I haven't even met? That's just great so my life was written without me knowing."

"Look hun, you don't have to think about everything at once just think about living now not into the future. The present is ment to be lived not stuck wondering about a future that you can change how ever you want. Just take a deep breathe and hold my hand."

"Since your father won't be here for a few months and I think seeing him interact is better than a picture, I think this is better just breathe and close your eyes okay sweetie?"

"Okay," I say a little nervous as I take ahold of her hands.

Everything turned white in a second and I couldn't open my eyes. I began to panic.

Calm down my child.  My mom? How could she be in my head but then again never underestimate anything since nothing here is exactly normal.

I can hear you.

Where are we?

You'll see.

** The white scene turned into a luxurious room and in the middle of it was a pearly white bed. All of a sudden a hand grips my shoulder. I jump of fear.

"It's all right", I turn around to see my beautiful mother.

"Where are we?" I ask but my thought is cut short by a babies cry.

"Can I hold my precious little girl?" I turn to see a replica of my mother with a little bundle whom I guess is was me as a baby. What caught my full attention was the tall handsome man with a business suit yet his jacket was thrown aside. He's probably in his early thirties and radiated power and respect. He looked intimidating yet handsome with eyes as blue as my mother's as well but had specks of sapphire in his iris'.

"In my memories darling. He is your father."

"Of course my love," I starred in awe as my mother handed the fragile child to my father. The pure love that he expressed as he cuddled me tight to his chest made my chest ache. I yearned for a father that I never met and didn't even know.

" now my little treasure. Daddy loves you very much but daddy has to go soon and I promise you I will always carry your picture with me when I'm out in war. I have to go fight to keep not only the kingdom safe but most importantly to keep you and your mother safe. I promise you that I will see you when this is all over. I will do everything to come back to your beautiful face and your mothers."

It's odd how he is talking to to that fragile baby as if it understood everything he said but somehow this memory feels like deija vu. In the end I knew his words where true and I knew he was coming back to me soon. I felt so overwhelmed and began to feel the tears build up again.

I love you dad

He looked up to where we were standing and he seems to look straight at me and gives me a warm smile.

"He can't see us can he?" I ask a little wierded out.

"No but he can sense you." She replies smiling at my the memory of dad.

He looks down at the little bundle again and gives a gentle kiss to her well me.

"I love you my little sapphire. I'll see you soon enough."

Everything turned white once again and I open my eyes to find ourselves on the hammock once again.

My biological mother wiped off the tears that were endlessly rolling down my cheeks. I have never seen so much love and emotion fill anyone like it had filled my father  and mother when I was born. It's going to be difficult to adjust but I know this is my rightful place even though it feels weird it feels right as well.

"He will be back in around two months he estimated that the war will finally reach its end by then."

My heart warmed with the thought of seeing my father again.

"We need to get back inside dear. We have a ball in your honor to announce that the princess is finally back. Oh wait till the rest of the family sees you! Oh they will be so thrilled to see you all grown up!"

Great. I forgot I was a princess. Ugh princess. I hate the title but will have to get over it. I just hope I don't have to wear those big dresses. With that negative though we headed through the garden holding my sapphire dahlia closely back
