I took in the sight of all the peope that where starng at me. All of them where attractive. I couldn't undertand why everyone had too look amazing. Although, everyone has a diffrent type of beauty. They all looked like royalty to me, women in cocktail dresses or ball gowns and men in diffrent suits.
I couldn't help but notice a guy in the middle of the crowd staring at me intensly as if he had known me for years and wierd enough I felt as if I know him as well. I brushed the odd feeing away as I looked around.
The ballroom was decorated with red ballons and sappirre dahlias on every table. There wasn't much to do to the ballroom since its beauty alone was enough to amaze. My name was spelled out in a red banner in the entrance way with my name in bold sappirre colored words. If I wasn't mistaken, the letters where actually made up of minature sappirre stones. The way that the bold letters sparkled and gleamed proved me right.
Everything was magnificent yet the smiles on my guardian family was the best sight of the whole ballroom.
I looked at them and wondered how would those two little munchkins ever come to understand the world they are living in. The tears began to fill up my eyes yet I drew in a breathe and walked down the enchanting staircase making my way to my small ordinary family when I felt a stab of pain shooting down my spine. I chose to ignore. I was accustomed to pain and I learned to not to let the pain be shown on my expression. With each step I took, the pain seemed to shoot up with every stepas well. When I thought tht the pain would become unbearable, I felt a soothing hand connect to my back. I tuen d find myself looking into a pair of clear grey eyes looking back into my dark grey ones. I felt the pain receeding and fading in each step.
" Don't worry my princess. I got you. Are you okay?"
I looked into his eyes filled with warmth and passion. He was a sight to take in. Certainly one of the most good looking here. I pulled my gaze away from his. I felt my cheeks blushing adding a darker shade of pink in which the make up helpers had applied.
" I'm fine thanks," I straightened myself to get under control," How did you know I wasn't feeling well."He flashed his white pearls changing his serious expression into one of amusement.
"Despite your impressive way of hiding your pain, that no one would have ever guessed your distress; the distant yet present pang of pain I felt was enough for me to see through your strong expression and see the pain in your eyes." He grabs my hand and bends down," I, Davian, am your dedicated soul protector." He places a kiss on my hand and with that he walks away without looking back. I felt the emptiness of his prescence which shocked me into sense. I yelled at myself silently.
"Sapphy!" That jumpy sound filled me with joy. I turn to see a little crystal running towards me. She weaved her way through the crowd and pushed between couples who where chatting away. They were a bit irritated but once their eyes fell on the little curly-haired bundle of joy they seemed nothing but delighted as she said sorry in her little voice. I laughed at the sight of the small commosion she seemed to have caused.
She jumped into my arms. I wrapped her in my arms and squeezed her tight, taking in the scent of home. I was just glad that I could spare Crystal the horror and pain that Julian would have given her in just a few years.
I kissed my little sister and put her down as I catch the sight of my guardian father. We never had that normal daughter and father bond. We had like a friendship that revolved on what we both love to do the most. Spar. Oh how I loved to wake up and look forward to sparring with my father in the afternoon. I gotta admit, I got my butt kicked many times by him but I had a good count of wins against him. Whenever I had a win, he would take me out to see perfessional MMA fights.
I smiled at the thoughts of our weird relationship and he smiled widely at me as well. He took me in a embrace which stunned me at first because he didn't often hug any of us. I then settled in his arms and enjoyed the moment.
"You are the most beautiful, cunning, and strongest girl. I am so sorry that I didn't see through all his bullshit. It still is hard to believe the my brother was replaced by a demon but what makes it even difficult is knowing the pain and suffering you went through."
I couldn't stand to see him torching himself with guilt and pain.
"Dad, you are the best guardian I could have ever had. Remember that this isn't your fault. No one would have ever been able to figure out Julian true essence. Plus like you always said I'm head strong so there was no way you could have seen the truth. In the end, I would have preferred this to have had happen to me than Crystal. As long as all of you where safe, then there wouldn't have been anything I wouldn't have done to keep it that way." Tears spilled from my cheeks once again feeling the pain that radiated off of the man that was my father for many years.
I gazed into his eyes that where glistening with unshed tears. I so strongly wanted him to not feel guilt and the burden of feeling like he failed me.
He nodded and blinked away the tears giving me a warm smile.
"Well ... I think you need to go give a speech." He pointed towards the top bounkany over viewing the whole ball room. I gave my family one last hug before I walked tog my end. I have never been one to give speeches much less in front of so many people.
Just as I was turning around to head towards my mother, I once again slam into a well built guy. I felt a chill go down my spine as I starred up into dark red eyes.
"Well hello there hot stuff.." . I rolled my eyes at his corky attitude and made my way to the staircase once more.
"Oooh, hot and feisty," he smirked," I like that. Mind to present myself."
"Prince Davian of the Shadow Kingdom," he stated as he bent over and took her hand to place a kiss on her hand. For some reason, I was captivated by his touch and felt a jolt go up my arm... but I pushed it aside and walked away eager to put some distance between that cocky jerk and her.
As she walked away she yelled back,"Sappire, princess of I don't care," I said playfully taunting his tone as I walked away of an utterly shocked prince.
Once I was next to my mother at the top of the stairs, I felt a pang of pain extending from my ribcage spreading across my body.
"Honey are you alright?" She cried out and I felt myself drop to the ground and those where the last words I heard when I faded into the welcoming darkness..
