"Then don't leave..." Aether murmured, his voice barely audible, lost in the depths of sleep. Dainsleif understood that these were the words of a slumbering mind, not to be taken seriously. Yet, a glimmer of warmth stirred within him, a flicker of hope for a future where Aether's feelings might align with his own. Despite knowing the uncertainty of Aether's unconscious utterances, Dainsleif couldn't help but long for a time when Aether might reciprocate his love with equal fervor. But for now, he was content to indulge in the illusion, to savor the fleeting moment of closeness.
Reluctantly, he settled beside Aether, lying on top of the covers to avoid making him uncomfortable. The rhythmic sound of Aether's breathing, steady and calm, brought Dainsleif a sense of peace. He allowed himself to bask in the moment, staying just like Aether had asked him too.
Remaining in Aether's presence a little while longer, Dainsleif waited until he was certain Aether had drifted into a deep slumber, his subconscious no longer influencing his actions or words. With careful steps, Dainsleif made his way back to the couch, a silent retreat to avoid disturbing Aether's rest.
Deep down, Dainsleif harbored a fear of how Aether might perceive his presence in the same bed, coupled with his own hesitation to cross that boundary. The mere thought of sharing a bed with Aether caused a faint flush to rise to Dainsleif's cheeks, a telltale sign of his discomfort with the idea.

With the gentle morning light filtering into the room, Aether stirred from his slumber, his movements accompanied by sleepy yawns and languid stretches. As his eyes fluttered open, taking in the familiar surroundings, he pieced together the events of the previous night. The realization dawned upon him that Dainsleif must have carried him to bed while he slept, a tender gesture that elicited a soft smile to grace his lips.
Aether called out, 'Dainsleif?' as he hopped out of bed and made his way towards the living room. The sight that greeted him was Dainsleif, already up and busy preparing breakfast. Aether paused for a moment, curiosity piqued. He couldn't help but wonder about the time. It seemed unusual for Dainsleif to be up so early and actively making breakfast. Had he slept in later than usual?
"Good morning, Aether," Dainsleif greeted, his voice warm as he noticed Aether's presence. It was impossible not to sense Aether's arrival; he was as radiant as his namesake. Much like the sun, Aether seemed to brighten the entire room with his mere presence.
"Morning..." Aether replied drowsily, still half asleep as he settled onto the couch, rubbing his eyes. "Did you sleep well?" Dainsleif asked, placing a plate of egg sandwiches in front of him. "I made enough for both of us, eat if you're hungry."
"Mm... I'll be fine. I should probably head back to my dorm now. Where's my phone? Lumine has probably spammed me already." Aether looked around the living room, trying to recall where he might have left it. He figured it must be somewhere on the couch, considering he had passed out there the previous night.
"Here you go," Dainsleif said, handing Aether his phone. "I saw it on the floor last night and figured you might need it, so I charged it for you."
"Oh, thank you," Aether replied with a warm smile, genuinely appreciating the kind gesture. Dainsleif truly was a gentleman; his considerate nature and thoughtful actions made it clear. Anyone would be fortunate to have him as a partner, whether romantically or simply as a companion.
