It has been 14 years since the execution of the great pirate king.

The great age of piracy is still in full swing, with criminals everywhere, searching for the King's treasure.

A boy reads a fascinating book while sitting on a tree branch,

Or as his friends call him, Theo.

14 years ago he came to this wonderful world of pirates, completely lost and confused.

Unable to remember who he was, or why he had vague memories about something called One Piece.

Theo only had 3 crucial things he could remember.

1- This is not his world

2- In his past life he was 16 years old... before he died (?)

3- Vague memories about an anime, a passion of his as a teenager, something that made him want to be a writer when he grew up...

Theo puts his hand in the pocket of the cargo pants he is wearing, taking out an apple that he had recently placed there.

He takes a bite of the apple, closing his eyes for a second and enjoying its sweetness.

And then going back to reading the encyclopedia,

Devil fruits, without a doubt, are one of the greatest mysteries in this world. Where did they come from? How are they made? Why are there so many variations of them?

'All these miraculous powers only at the cost of not being able to swim anymore... In a world that is mostly water, how fitting.' The young man smiles broadly geeking out about his favorite subject,

The boy hears his name being called, and then his excited face abruptly falls, becoming expressionless. He looks several feet below, seeing an old man with gray-blonde hair calling the boy and searching everywhere for him.

The boy promptly puts the encyclopedia in his bag, which was hanging and a small branch protruding right above him,

And then he jumps off the branch with high-level dexterity. Directly to a lower branch, repeating the same feat a few times until jumping to the ground, catching the attention of the old man who looks at him with relief.
