Briana was sitting in the backseat of her mother's car, looking out the window. Alex was sitting in the passenger seat, searching for a good radio show while their mother was driving.
She was completely lost in thoughts, her green eyes following the street disappear behind the car over and over again. She was a little worried, what if her new classmates would hate her too, just like the past ones did?
But then, her thoughts got interrupted by her mother. "And Kyle. Don't you dare use that ridiculous name you started calling yourself. It's already a shame for us that you somehow made Alex call you 'Briana'." She spoke, glaring at Briana through the car mirror.
Briana flinched a little, but then nodded a little. "Yes mom..." Alex then spoke up, turning around to her and smiling gently. "Don't worry, you got that. I know you are gonna make a lot of friends." He tried to reassure her, putting a hand on her knee.
In response, she smiled a little at his words. "Thanks Alex..."
...
The car stopped in front of the school and Briana got out of the car. "Don't mess up, Kyle." Her mother just replied, before driving off, to drop Alex off at his job.
Briana let out a sigh, putting her bag over her shoulder, before walking towards the school building. On her way, she noticed how some people were staring at her strangely, whispering to each other. Weird, she thought. She hasn't even said anything yet, did people notice that she was a trans girl? Was her face still too masculine, after years of hormones and putting on makeup? She started to get insecure again about her appearance, but tried to shake it off again. She took a deep breath to calm down again. "It's okey Briana... It's okey. You are a beautiful, attractive woman. Now go in there, and be as confident as ever.", she told herself, opening the door to the school.
After not so long searching, she found her classroom. After taking another deep breath and slowly exhaling, she opened the door and stepped into the classroom. Immediately, everything went silent.
Briana looked around a little confused and nervous, waving a little. "Ehm... Good morning..?" Wow, what a great start.
The other teenagers stayed quiet for a few more months, before just returning to their conversations. She let out a sigh of relief, about to walk to a free seat, when suddenly a male voice called out from behind her. "Out of the way!" That boy, much smaller than her, but most definitely stronger than her, almost knocked her over as he rushed inside.
Briana stumbled a little, but catched her balance soon after again, glaring at that guy. "Hey! You can't just yell something like that and right after just pushing them out of the way! It's rude and impolite!"
The teenage boy then turned to her, raising an eyebrow. He looked her up and down for a moment, before smirking and walking back over to her. "Oh, my apologies? I didn't know a girl could be so... I don't know how to say this... Strict? Or... Like a Karen?" He then teased, smirking up at her.
Briana then let out a huff and crossed her arms. "I'm not a Karen! I'm just saying it was rude."
He chuckled, rolling his eyes. "Yeah yeah, whatever." After watching Briana for a moment, he spoke up again, extending his hand out to her. "Anyways, I'm Chad. And who are you, beautiful?"
Briana paused for a moment, looking a little confused. Did he just call her beautiful? She then shook it off, shaking his hand. "Briana... Briana Smith."
Chad then stared at her in confusion. "Briana? I didn't know that out new classmate has a sister, that goes to the same school... We were supposed to get a certain Kyle Smith, not a Briana... So what are you doing here?" Briana then froze up completely. She knew it... Of course, her mother would put in her deadname...
She was quiet, before responding quietly. "... Well... That person is me... I uh... My mom just put in the wrong name..." Briana was just hoping Chad wouldn't ask any more questions.
And surprisingly, he didn't. Chad then just smiled. "Oh really? Can't believe your own mother put in the wrong name of her child."
She then scratched the back of her head a little. "That happens quite a lot, since I came out as trans..."
Chad's eyes then went wide, and he suddenly grinned. "You're trans? Girl, me too! Just... A trans dude, not a trans girl... But you get the point!“
Briana then looked a bit surprised but then smiled. "Really? I... I've never met anyone who's trans too!" Chad then chuckled a little. "Yeah, not many people around here are trans or are brave enough to express themselves." He then took Briana's arm and dragged her with him to his seat. "Next to me is still a seat free, you can sit there!"
At this, she couldn't help but smile. "Uh... Y-yeah, sure!"
...
The school day was terrible, besides the fact that Chad was a pretty nice guy. Most of the people in school just couldn't help but make stupid comments of her being trans and deadnamed her... But well, she made it out of the school day, waiting for her mom to arrive to pick her up.
Briana waited and waited, but she never arrived. She let out a sigh. "Of course she forgot..." With slow steps, she started walking off, walking on the sidewalk while pulling out her MP3 Player and headphones, plugging them in and putting the headphones on. She chose a song, "Bring me to live" by Evanescence.
She hummed quietly along while walking, just letting herself getting consumed by the music.
...
When she arrived home and walked into the living room, she saw her mother laying there, sleeping a deep slumber with a empty wine bottle on the ground. Briana sighed, a little... That was not the first time this had happened, since Das left her for a younger woman.
Briana then sneaked into the kitchen and grabbed an apple before leaving the house through the backdoor. She walked across the backyard, towards the forest that was behind their house. After a moment of consideration, she walked into the forest, just exploring like she used to as a kid.
...
The forest was darker and creepier than she remembered... Not even a single sound was to hear besides her own breathing and the steps she took. Small branches broke underneath her shoes, dried leaves crunched at every step. It was colder than expected, during the day it was pretty hot... Welcome to autumn.
After some time of walking, she settled down on a random Tree trunk on the ground, resting a bit as she threw away the leftovers from the apple she had grabbed on her way out.
Briana looked a bit around, confused. Still no sound or sigh of any animal... "... Hm, weird... Not even a single bird... And no trash? I wonder if anyone even goes into this forest..." She mumbled to herself underneath her breath before standing back up and continued her walk.
After a few more minutes of walking, Briana suddenly spotted a figure in the distance... She slowly got a little closer, and she started to recognize the figure... It was the same one of this morning that she had seen. It appeared to be a boy, but she could only see his hoodie that he was wearing, the hood over his head.
She wanted to get a lot closer, but she froze in shock as she heard these sounds... The sound of something getting sliced up and gutted... She narrowed her eyes a little, thinking an animal getting gutted... But her eyes widen im shock and horror as she saw a person, laying on the ground with their eyes wide open, the boy from that previous morning squatting next to them.
That's when he male turned his head towards her... His dark blue mask lifted up ever so slightly, a fresh gutted kidney in his hand, biting into it... Briana wanted to scream, but she couldn't...
The only thing she could do, was freeze up, staring with wide eyes into those black, lifeless holes of his, were his eyes were supposed to be...
