The girl looked up, her eyes wide with fear. "Who are you?" she whispered.
"I'm here to help," Emma replied, fumbling with the lock. "We're getting you out of here."
The lock clicked open, and Emma pulled the door wide. "Come on, let's go."
They moved quickly, ducking through the shadows toward the exit. Just as they reached the door, a figure stepped out of the darkness, blocking their path.
Emma's heart sank as she recognized the scarred man from her photos. "Going somewhere?" he sneered.
Before Emma could react, Alex appeared behind the man, striking him hard on the back of the head. The man crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
"Come on!" Alex urged, and they fled into the night, the girl safely in tow.
As they ran through the rain, Emma felt a surge of relief and gratitude. They had saved the girl, but she knew their fight was far from over. The kidnappers would come after them, and they would have to be ready.
Back in the safety of Alex's small apartment, they caught their breath. The girl, whose name was Lily, clung to Emma, tears streaming down her face.
"Thank you," she whispered.
Emma hugged her tightly. "You're safe now."
Alex watched them, a thoughtful expression on his face. "We did good tonight," he said softly. "But we need to be prepared. This isn't over."
Emma nodded, meeting his gaze. "We'll be ready. Together."
As the rain continued to fall outside, Emma felt a sense of hope. She had found an ally in Alex, and together, they would uncover the truth and bring the kidnappers to justice. And in the process, perhaps, they would find something more—something worth fighting for.
The next morning, Emma awoke to the sound of rain tapping against the window. She glanced over at Lily, who was still asleep on the couch. Alex was in the kitchen, making coffee. The comforting smell filled the small apartment, but Emma couldn't shake a nagging feeling in the back of her mind.
"Morning," Alex said with a smile as he handed her a steaming cup.
"Morning," Emma replied, taking the cup. "We need to figure out our next move."
Alex nodded, leaning against the counter. "I've been thinking. We should get in touch with the police. We have enough evidence to start an investigation."
Emma considered this. "But what if they're involved? The kidnappers seem to have a lot of resources."
Alex sighed. "True. We need to be careful. Maybe we can find someone we trust within the force."
Emma agreed, but her unease grew. Something about Alex's behavior last night nagged at her. He had been too smooth, too prepared. She needed to know more about him.
Hey guysss!! Do y'all like Alex?? Let me know what you guys think of him ;-) Don't forget to vote/like XD !
