marriage was pointless for you. all your dreams of having a love marriage with a man you loved and spending the rest of your life like a fairytale, were broken to pieces when your parents decided to arrange your marriage with your father's partner company's heir, seo changbin.
you were the oldest child- bound to be perfect and follow the orders of your parents.

"darling, it's for your own good. why would we want you to live a bad life?" they'd say.

you wanted to shout at their faces and say that this wasn't what you wanted. but perhaps it was better than being called a disgrace and being ousted from the family for the sole reason of standing up for yourself.

as you were caught up in your thoughts, you felt a pat on your shoulder.

"hey. sorry i got late. did you wait long?"

it was changbin. you requested your father to atleast meet him before getting married to ensure he wasn't an arrogant jackass like most of the company heirs.

he looked...buff. taller than you. his hair was parted and his silver mini hoops accentuated his face perfectly.

"not really, it's alright. please have a seat." you replied.

you guys talked about how you both got to know about the marriage and you both got along well. you both had plans to marry for love, but guess you both were stuck with each other for now.

he felt warm. like a perfectly sweet hot chocolate on a freezing night. but the thought that you were now stuck with him and your dream was shattered because of him made you want to hate him. but you couldn't. he was a gentleman, and a good listener too. he talked about giving space and was considerate about each and every thing you could think of.

"i'll definitely give you space and will give you time to adjust. just allow me to take care of you when you're sick and on red days."

"he's too sweet for me, gosh." you thought. but then your egoistic self intervened. why does he care? you were fully capable of taking care of yourself.

"why the exceptions? isn't this an arranged marriage? i mean, why do you care-"

"because every human deserves it, [yn]. even if this is an arranged marriage, i just cant leave you on your own when you know you will need help."

changbin's reply left you dumbfounded yet assured that he won't treat you badly. meanwhile, changbin was thinking about the fact that how could you ask such a dumb question since it was the bare minimum as a husband for him. 

"so, are you ready to get married, i mean do i pass the test?" he chuckled.

"yeah." you smile.

you knew that this marriage wouldn't be as haunted as you thought it would be, changbin would make sure of that. maybe you could try loving him— he deserves it for being such a gentleman anyway.
