Marinette's  POV

I woke up to my alarm going off in the morning. It seemed like a normal day, but it was hell for me. I'm only 18 years old, and my wedding is in an hour. I got out of bed and walked to my bathroom. I cursed my dad for such a horrible day. In about 50 minutes, I'll be walking down an aisle wearing a stupid white dress and holding flowers. And in about 55 minutes, I'll be vowing love to a stranger. After applying gloss and brushing my hair, I turned around and got a simple dress from my closet. It's just a knee-length off shoulder white dress.

My parents are rich, to say the least, so of course I could have bought something more expensive, but I really couldn't care less. This day is not special at all. It's really horrible, and the fact that I'm even trying to look a bit good should be enough to please my father and my soon to be husband. It's not like I care to please them anyway. Even if I'm a mafia princess, but more like an abandoned princess. My dad is the king, and mom would be the disrespected queen. Ever since I was little, he's never cared about either of us. My mom was always the one taking care of me. But even she left me when I was 15, she just left one day, and never came back. There is also my brother, Luka, but he is 10 years older than me and left us on his 18th birthday. We had three houses. My mom owned the left one, but she never used it because she stayed with me and Luka in the middle house during our childhood. Meanwhile, my father has cheated on her with various women in the left mansion for as long as their marriage lived.

Luke was the best brother ever. He thought me many stuff, how to shoot a gun, how to fight, basically how to stand up for myself. Sabine taught me how to cook, how to read and write, how to be a 'lady,' basically how to live. They raised me. Unlike my dad, who I barely ever saw. Throughout my whole life, I have seen him 20 times. I know... I counted them, and I remember every visit. Especially the last one, which got me the worst news of my life, and a trauma that caused me weeks of crying. It happened 3 years ago.

Flashback

I was peacefully playing with my mom, Sabine, when I heard a door knock. Mom opened, and I saw Tom get in. His face motionless as always, staring at me while walking in and sitting on the chair in front of me. We silently stared at each other for a minute while my mom walked toward the couch to my left and sat down.

Marinette's living room she is sitting on the white couch, and Tom is laying back on one of the chairs.

"Marinette..." Tom started with a steady voice.

"Father..." I replied with a shaky breath. None of his visits have ever been good news, so I'm not so excited to see him here.

"I am here to announce your wedding to Adrien Agreste in three years. You will move out and be his loyal wife unless he says otherwise. I advice you not to reveal against him, and do as he orders you. He is the number one mafia boss, and your union with him will be beneficial to our family. " His voice is always formal and steady with me and mom, I hate it, but I am as well thankful he never raises it. Once he came to a small stop, I looked in his eyes. I opened my mouth to speak but quickly closed it once I heard his voice again.

"This is it for today, you are expected to show up in a white dress at the beach at 10am, morning of August 15th. The wedding will be held here in Italy, and you will move to France with your husband once such affair is finished. " He broke eye contact while standing up from the chair. After a last glance to mom, he walked out the door.

" Is this seriously happening?" I asked barely audibly while looking at my mom through teary eyes. "I'm sorry." She whispered as my tears started to roll down my cheeks. Mom is the only one I've ever cried in front of, not that I had people to do that with, but I also didn't trust dad enough to let my tears fall during his presence.

"I'll bring you some water." She said softly as she got up from the couch and walked to the door. I stood up and hugged her for a minute before she left.

"It's okay dear." She whispered in my ear before kissing my cheek.

"Ill put extra ice cubes in your cup and bring myself a cup of coffee so we can talk about it more." She suggested trying to cheer me up a little before letting go and walking to the door again.

"Ok" I whispered before my voice cracked. "I love you." I raised my voice a little bit.

"I love you too sweetheart." She said before walking out the door. That was the last time I ever saw her alive. When I felt like too much time had passed, I walked out looking for her, and next thing I know, my mother is being buried in a casket somewhere near her house...

This of course left me crying for weeks, I had 2 reasons to be devastated; the wedding announcement, and my mother's death.

End of flashback

I was laying on my back, staring at the ceiling of my room. The music still recording till it was interrupted by my alarm clock. 10am, time to get married...
