The hot babysitter

A long day

Upon the doctor's suggestion, Lan zhan decided to go home and take care of Wei wuxian by letting him rest for the day but luck wasn't on his side. He got a call from the office to attend a very important meeting. The meeting couldn't be postponed or cancelled because the investor was important for the company so Lan zhan had to be present there. Lan zhan couldn't leave Wei wuxian at home all by himself so he decided to bring him to the office.

Wei wuxian was feeling well after taking the described medicine but still a bit dizzy. He grabbed Lan zhan's hand while leaving the hospital. He felt the change in Lan zhan's demeanor but pretended like he didn't notice it. Surprisingly, Lan zhan's arm wrapped up around his waist, making him stable.

Once they reached Cloud recesses, Lan zhan let Wei wuxian hold on to him as they both entered the gate. Wei wuxian could feel all eyes on himself but couldn't figure out why so he didn't care about it.

Lan zhan brought him to his office where his secretary was already waiting with a couple of files in hand. Even she was taken aback by her boss coming to the office with a man holding him like a koala. The most she had seen Lan zhan getting close to anyone was Lan Xichen.

Lan zhan sat down on the couch along with Wei wuxian and gestured his secretary to hand over the files. After looking into it for a couple of seconds he turned to Wei wuxian,"I need to go to the conference room, you can come or just rest here" Lan zhan was hoping that he'll accompany him .

Wei wuxian squinted his eyes, pouting a little,"I think I would stick around you for a while, in case I faint again" he batted his eyelashes before adding,"My prince charming will help me up again"

Lan zhan,"Shameless" and both headed towards the conference room just the way they had entered the office.

Everyone looked at them for a brief moment before greeting Lan zhan and settled on their seats again. Lan zhan took his seat and offered a closer one for Wei wuxian. The meeting began shortly after.

Wei wuxian couldn't pay attention to the meeting but he was loving every ounce of attention he was getting from the grumpy daddy. He decided to push his luck a bit more as he started pushing his chair near Lan zhan's. Lan Zhan was writing down important points when the troublemaker's hands wrapped around his biceps. As if that wasn't enough to make Lan zhan's heart race, Wei wuxian put his head on his shoulder.

Apparently sitting beside Lan zhan wasn't enough so Wei wuxian got up from his chair and got into Lan zhan's lap facing him. Everyone along with Lan zhan were shocked with his actions. Lan zhan appeared to be calm on the outside but his heart was doing backflips inside his chest. And while he was having such a hard time, Wei wuxian fell asleep after getting the most comfortable place in the world.

Lan zhan could hardly focus on the things being said in the meeting anymore because all his eyes can see was Wei wuxian, all he could feel was Wei wuxian, all he could hear was Wei wuxian's relaxed breathing. He and only he had his undivided attention in the whole room.

No one in the room dared to ask questions and pretended like they had not just witnessed the unbelievable scene right before their eyes. The coldest businessman of the multinational company, smitten over a babysitter hired a couple of weeks ago.

Once the meeting was over, Lan zhan gently nudged Wei wuxian. He looked at Lan zhan with sleepy eyes and yawned,"Meetings over"

Lan zhan nodded in affirmative and Wei wuxian grinned before uttering his next words,"I'm hungry"

Lan zhan brought him to a nearby restaurant and Wei wuxian began ordering the spiciest food on the menu. Lan only ordered a cheeseburger for himself.

Once the food arrived, both began eating. Wei wuxian was talking non stop while Lan zhan ate in silence. Lan zhan payed the bill even though Wei wuxian insisted on paying.

"Why didn't you let me pay?" Wei wuxian complained on their way to Lan zhan's car.

"Because I'm your boss and I'm supposed to take care of you when you are not well " Lan zhan tried to reason with him and fortunately Wei wuxian stopped complaining.

Lan zhan turned around only to see Wei wuxian had stopped a  few meters behind him. Lan zhan felt a pang of jealousy when he noticed Wei wuxian was talking to a girl. Lan zhan approched them slowly to not interrupt their conversation but even he wasn't ready for the surprise.

"Mianmian, what a lovely name. Sounds kinda familiar" Wei wuxian said excitedly.

Lan zhan spoke before mianmian could have said that to trigger Wei wuxian's memories,"I might have mentioned her name. We used to study together"

Mianmian could see Lan zhan's concern for Wei wuxian so she went with his statement and walked away shortly. Lan zhan sighed of relief looking at her going away. But Wei wuxian's words brought his anxiety back.

"Somehow I feel like I have met her before"

"Stop thinking too much, you should probably get some rest" Lan zhan suggested to divert his mind.

"You're right, or maybe we should get ice cream" he said looking at the ice cream stall on the other side of the road.

Wei wuxian started running towards the ice cream stall not paying attention to the road. Lan zhan was walking behind him , the traffic was less in that area so he wasn't too worried about Wei wuxian running around but still he was alert for any situation.

As if the whole world was challenging Lan zhan today, a car was heading straight in Wei wuxian's direction. Luckily, Lan zhan was able to notice it in time and grabbed Wei wuxian's arm, pulling him to the sidewalk with him
. His oblivious bean still didn't understand what happened just now.

Well they both got ice cream, Wei wuxian to enjoy the cold treat and Lan zhan to cool off the fear of almost losing his love again. Finally the day was over as Lan zhan drove him home and watched Wei wuxian settled in his bed.
