Kakashi skillfully plucked the tiny fox by the scruff of its neck, quickly pulling it away from Naruto and holding it out in front of him as Naruto whined in protest.
"Naruto," he started, ready to scold the child for summoning a demon in his house, but he couldn't. After all, what did the three year old know about anything; he was innocent. It was the horrified look in his eye once Kakashi addressed him that really got the message through to him.

"Please stay here," he sighed, "the food is almost done in the kitchen. I need to talk to your... friend... here." He didn't want to talk, if anything, he wanted to kill it while he had the chance, but it wouldn't do anything. Probably just anger the demon more, and he couldn't risk Naruto's health.

Taking the (though he wouldn't admit it, adorable) creature to his room, the only secluded place where Naruto wouldn't stumble upon, given the locked door, he let it go. The fox was surprisingly calm, gracefully bouncing down and sitting with a regale he wasn't expecting.

"What are you trying to pull here?" He cut straight to the chase, not wanting to entertain the demon nor leave Naruto alone for long (Bro has ADHD, he shouldn't be left alone at all, Kakashi.) Kurama grunted, clearly agitated but expected something like this to happen.

"My goal is to gain your trust, by appearing to you in this puny, weak form," the fox spoke, his voice surprisingly deep. "Listen, as I'm only going to attempt this once and I'm only resorting to the because my Kit would be put under unnecessary stress if you were trying to force him to stop talking to me. You can choose to be ignorant, or comply." He stretched before jumping onto Kakashi's cot, lying down afterwards. Of course, his first instinct was to kill the darn thing and shut him up, but... he had already developed a soft spot for the blinding bundle of joy, so he listened, his hand resting on his kunai pouch.

"Good," Kurama yawned before continuing, "My name is Kurama, you already know what I am. I don't care much for you, or this village, or anyone who lives in it for that matter, but my Kit... I would do anything to protect him. Even dawn myself in this humiliating body," he mumbled. Kakashi listened intently, slowly untensing as the other spoke.
"Your Kit?" He questioned, to which Kurama gave him a menacing look (or as menacing as a chibi fox can).
"Family," came his one worded response. They're close, then. How long has he been talking to the nine tail? Kurama continued.

"I'm not here to answer questions, I think that should come when Naruto is ready to share and not before that. I also won't be here for long. This whole situation has put a strain on my Kit and I don't want him using much Chakra until he's back, I'd think you'd agree. Now, I'll stay with him in this form for tonight, help him get accustomed to his life since clearly you can't handle a crying child," (You're one to talk) "and tomorrow I'll be gone after Naruto wakes up." He finished, lying his head down as if he was about to nap. Kakashi didn't like this, but he had to admit: the fox seemed honest, and there really wasn't much he could do as long as Kakashi didn't let his guard down completely. Still, this didn't feel right.

A loud wail rang through the home, startling them both. "He got burned," Kurama spoke, already on his feet and by the Jonin's side by the time Kakashi opened the door and sprinted to the kitchen. As Kurama had predicted, (or maybe somehow knew through some type of bond?) Naruto had knocked over a ramen cup, the watery broth managing to spill on his leg. Luckily, if there was one thing Kakashi was good at, it was reacting quickly. He scooped up Naruto, placing him on a counter away from the spill and other cup, quickly turning to grab the first aid kit under his sink. Naruto had quieted significantly once he'd been placed back down, upon turning around Kakashi could see why his wailing had turned to sniffles.

He picked out the burn ointment from the box, Kurama had snuggled under Naruto's arms and into his lap, purring loudly as Naruto pet the tiny nine tail. He slowly took hold of his leg, twisting it slightly to see where the burn was and how bad it was. The good news was that the burn wasn't bad at all, after applying the ointment, he put two bandaids on the wound, loosely applying them so the wound could breath while the ointment didn't get rubbed off. The bad news was that upon scanning his leg, he noticed a plethora of other scars and scabs. Sure, none looked too fresh, but the fact that they were there at all made him close his eyes to stop himself from grimacing.
