I woke up and realized she wasn't there next to me. I called her phone. She didn't answer. I called Sabrina. She didn't answer either. That's when I called Justin. No answer from him. I guess I should check his place first because I know he would let her stay there.
I got dressed in a tank top and some black jeans with plain Converse. I grabbed my keys and drove over to his house. After a few minutes of standing there, I was going to leave, but then the door flung open.
"Hey... Ruby," Justin greeted me. He looked awkward, shy almost. I smiled at him and he pulled me into what felt like an unsure hug.
"Hey," I said. "Is Tori here?" I asked as he started to lead me up the stairs.
"Yeah she should be right in.... here," he turned into a guest bedroom. Victoria was lying there on her phone, her hair seemed damp as it hung in her face. Damn she gorgeous.
"Hey," she said, smiling at me.
"Hi," I said. I kissed her softly when she got to the door. We walked downstairs and said goodbye to Justin. I said a few words but she seemed really out of it.
"Hey are you okay?" I asked while driving.
"Huh? Yeah I'm fine," she said awkwardly.
"Umm, okay. So I guess we can just spend the day getting ready but I'm taking you out to dinner later," I said.
"Oh yeah. Okay sure," she said. She seemed uneasy and I was worried. But I didn't press the topic. The rest of the ride was quite.
I made a stop at her house so she could collect her things Her mother thanked me because I was allowing her to help herself after the incident. We hadn't really talked about it much afterwards. She seemed as though she just wanted to forget. Which, I don't blue her. But she's been doing better. She has a smoothie every breakfast and a salad or pasta at dinner. I guess she's getting better. It's not really something you just get over so I was helping her through it.
Her scar had also heeled very well. She ended up taking off the bandage and just applying makeup over it for our first meeting.
When she came back downstairs, she was quite. She kissed her mum then followed me out the door. It was again quite on the way home.
I guess you could say that we had a decent dinner. She actually started talking. Perhaps something just happen last night that she was thinking about. She was laughing, smiling and we were talking about the most random things you could.
Once she finished her meal, she got up to go to the bathroom, but made sure to pay after I insisted that I had been the one to take her out but I let her do it this one time.
When she came back, her eyes were a bit red but I didn't question it. We drove home finishing our conversation from dinner.
The next morning, I woke up to the annoying beeping sound on the nightstand. I reached over Tori and hit the button to turn it off. She took a shower in one of the bathrooms whilst I took one in another. She was still in the room when I got out, so I went downstairs and blended a strawberry banana smoothie for the both of us.
"Ya ready?" I asked her when she came down and took the smoothie.
She smiled. "Of course."
We drove to the airport blaring music. Alyssa had assigned us with three cabin on her private jet. Breanna and Jenelle were together, Sabrina and Whitney, and then Tori and I.
We got on the plane and Tori took a seat and looked out of the window. She didn't move at all. From the reflection, I could tell she was crying. That's when I got a little upset. I know something was wrong with her and she refused to tell me.
"Okay Victoria. What the hells wrong with you? And don't lie to me and give me that bullshit. I want to know what's wrong with you. You've been acting weird since I picked you up from Justin's house. Just talk to me baby," I said gently. She looked at me with the most heartbreaking face. Her eyes were pleading and tears streamed down her face.
"I'm so sorry," she said first. I was confused. "I slept with him. I had no clue what the hell was going on, all I know is that I woke up and neither of us had any clue as to what had happened. I'm so sorry Ruby."
I felt as though someone had ripped my heart from my chest. I couldn't help but look at her as I tried to comprehend what she just said. She slept with Justin. I sat down and all I could feel was the pain. The love that I showed this girl and this happens.
"Ruby say something!" Victoria urged.
I waved her off. "Just forget it." But truth is, I can't forget. I never will.
