"To desire is to live."

"She thinks you're Sooty?"

The man leaning on a wall was sarcastically smiling at her when she stepped out of Ray's room. "What are you doing here?"

The man stands up straight and stares her down. "Calm down, 'Sooty'. I'm just visiting my future wife."

She scoffed. "Bitch."

"Are you done playing with her yet? I'm bored." She ignored him and continues walking but the man decides to walk along with her. "Give her to me."

"No." She entered an elevator, pressed '1', then sighs. "Not yet."

"Aww, c'mon," the man was smirking at her, she can tell.

"I'm the one who broke them off! I should be the one playing with her more." The man pouts annoyingly. She grabs her car out of the garage and gets inside. "Just one day. Pretty please, 'Sooty'?"

"Get off my car." She fights the urge to just close the window on this bitch but held it in. She knows how dangerous it is to leave her with this man. But..

He's right. His plan to break them off did succeed and now Chatterbox is still not aware Ray Mond is missing. "Fine. Tomorrow."

The man didn't say anything, just smiled and walked away from the car. She sighed then goes towards the next location for the plan. "Please be dumb today too, Chatty."

"Oh my god," her eyes wander through the crowd looking where the voice came from until she noticed him, "Ray Mond?!"

Her lips curved to a smile.

"Eli!" She smiles at him. "What's up?"

Eli Lum quickly gets through the crowd and gets to her, excited to see her again. "Where have you been, man? Everybody's looking for you!"

Ray's smile weirdly widens like what he said was a compliment. "Just locked myself in my room." She states.

"For a whole week? That's a long time!" Eli brushes the weird feeling off of him. "Well, I guess you're back for good? Chatty's going mad looking for you, you know?"

Her smile dropped for a second then goes back to it's past state. "Why is he looking for me?"

"I mean, you didn't come back that night.." Eli couldn't finish his sentence. "Did you, perhaps, forget.. or?"

Ray Mond chuckles. "Forget? How?" She was smiling but her tone is low. "I couldn't get out of my bed for a whole week because of it."

Eli felt guilty as fuck. 'Right. She was broken up by Chatty. I'm such a fucking idiot.'

"Can I tell him I saw you, at least? He's so worried for you so I thought–"

"Sure." She's smiling but her eyes are screaming bloody murder—wait. Is he going insane? "Tell him."

"I will!" Eli waved goodbye to Ray Mond and went to his car at the parking lot of Snr. Buns. He's still weirded out on how her eyes looked a little different when he told her about telling Chatty. It's like she's been waiting for him to say that.

His phone rings and he answered it through the car. "Chatty?"

"Yappy, we're going to kidnap the Mayor right now." He almost spit out his drink.

"W-What?" He starts the car and drives off while Chatty's on speaker. "For what? Ray?"

"Who else would it be for, dumbass?" Kirk.

He tilted his head. "But I just saw her at Snr. Buns earlier, like 10 minutes ago—"

"What?!" Chatty screamed. "Did you talk to her?! Where did she go?! Are you sure it was her?!"

"Y-Yeah? I mean, she told me she's been locking herself in her room because of the breakup.." Eli sighs. "She looks a little different though. Maybe because she hasn't been eating much? You know, like how the girls–"

*toot toot toot*

"And he hanged up. Classic." Eli shrugs it off then drives to G6. "Welp, time to grind and shine, baby!"

Ray Mond's head is hanging down low. Her sight completely adjusted to the dark now. Her injuries, however, are getting more and more fatal as time passes. It's to the point where she's unable to cry.

"I promised.. I promised.." like a mantra, Ray uttered without a sound.

Is it wrong to wait for Chatty? She doesn't want him to suffer the way that she does but.. she wants to be free. Is it selfish?

'Did he give up on me too?'

Or maybe he believed sooty. Or maybe he just doesn't care. Or maybe Ray's lying to herself to not get hurt. Maybe.

"He promised."

Her body is giving up. How many days has it been? Is Chatty okay? Is April okay? Max? The Clowns? She needs to escape but she's way too hurt to even move.

'I'll crawl if I need to. If I get a chance.'

But what if she doesn't get a chance? What then?

"Why did I fall for that woman, Sooty?"

A recording that they played to her earlier that made her lose all hope.

'But he promised. He promised me.'

And she still trusts him with all her heart. And she will until the end. She trusts him more now than ever. Isn't it weird?

But her body is weary and weak and time seems to be standing still. Her hope is burning like a candle.

'Where are you Chatty? I'm waiting.'

'But he doesn't care for me anymore.'

'..he does.'

'Is he even aware I'm missing?'

'He must be. He's Chatty. He's her Chatty.'

"Cups?"

..huh?

"Cups, can you hear me?"

Her body felt the chills when she recognized his voice. He kneeled in front of her then caressed her arm. His hands are rough and it's traveling down to her hand, pulls it and kisses it.

"Chatty?"

"I've been looking everywhere for you."

The lightbulb flickers, his mask is covered in blood.
