"Please! I promise to give you unlimited butterscotch squares!"

James whines out sitting on my couch in my home office. He came barging into my house talking about how he needed my help, he wanted me to marry him so he could inherit his father kingdom. I looked at him like he had lost his ever loving mind, I met James when my sister and I were in college, he was an exchange student and he was in the fraternity that was in association with Carmen's and I's sorority. I have been madly in love with him ever since, but I have never told him, because I have had a horrible track record when it comes to showing interest in men.

I was either told they didn't date black women, or I was too dark, or they were only interested in hook ups, not serious relationships. And it didn't matter what race of man I choose either, I ended up giving up on having a serious relationship with anyone and just stuck to random hook ups here and there. It also pissed me off that I only seemed to attract men I wasn't physically attracted to either, I'm not going to stay I'm shallow or vain, but looks play a part for me. I have to be a little attracted to you physically, you can have an amazing personality and be a little cute and that's all I need.

I believe A great personality can definitely enhance someone's looks. It brings the inner beauty out from within to the surface.

I couldn't stand to be rejected by James so I just chose to be his friend. I have buried my feelings for him for years, and now the man that I have been madly in love with is asking me to marry him. I feel like this is going to come back to bite me in my ass, but fuck it! "Alright! Fine I will marry you James" He stands up and starts jumping up and down then walks over to me and picks me up, spinning me around then sits me back down on my feet. He then kisses me on the forehead and says "I'll call my mom and make our arrangements to leave in a couple of days I will text you later" And with that he rushes out of my home office typing fast on his phone.

"Oh shit! My bitch fin to be somebody's queen! Bow down peasants!"

Megan screams out on our facetime call. I called her and told her what went down, and I also called my sister, and Diana. Them hoes didn't answer their phones, and I can guess they are probably fucking their future baby daddy's.

"Yes ma'am! I'mma be on my black goddess queen ish!"

I replied back to Megan and she laughed, then said "so have you told James about how you feel yet?" I sigh and say "nope! But I'm going to when the time is right"

She nods and we talk for another few minutes then make plans to have a big slumber party before I leave next week.

It's going to be a little hard for me to leave Carmen. We have been together our whole lives, and she is my twin, I love her to death. We are literally yin and yang, she is the quiet and reserved one, and I am the loud fun having goofy one. No matter what we have always remained a unit and always had each other's backs, and that will never change. I had expressed myself to Carmen about my feelings for James over the years, and recently she told me that I needed to put my big girl panties on and tell James how I feel. Carmen may be the quiet one but when she speaks, she speaks nothing but facts and truth.

A week later.....

"I'm going to miss you Coop, but this is going to be good for you. James wouldn't have asked you unless he had some type of feelings for you"

Carmen said as she and I stood on the private plane terminal. I smiled and hugged her tight then whispered "I love you and I will call you later. Tell my future brother in law I said hello"
