The days following Namjoon's return to Seoul were a blur of rehearsals, meetings, and studio sessions. Yet, amidst the chaos, he found himself constantly checking his phone, waiting for messages from Myla. Their communication had evolved into lengthy, heartfelt letters exchanged across the time difference. Each message from her was like a beacon of warmth, a reminder of the connection they had forged in London.
It didn't take long for the other members of BTS to notice Namjoon's unusual behaviour. He was always glued to his phone, smiling at the screen, and typing away with a concentration that was usually reserved for writing lyrics. The curiosity among the group grew, and it wasn't long before they started devising plans to find out what was going on.
One afternoon, while they were all in the dance studio, Jimin and Taehyung exchanged conspiratorial glances. Jimin, being the more daring of the two, decided to take the lead. He walked up to Namjoon, who was seated in the corner, engrossed in his phone.
"Hey, Namjoon-Hyung, what's so interesting on your phone these days?"
Jimin tried to peek over his shoulder.
Namjoon quickly locked his screen and looked up, his expression a mix of amusement and mild irritation.
"Just work stuff, Jimin. You know how it is."
Taehyung sidled up next to Jimin, feigning innocence.
"Work stuff? Come on, Hyung, we all know you've been texting someone a lot lately. Is it a secret project?"
Namjoon shook his head, a chuckle escaping his lips.
"No secret projects, just personal things."
Jin, observing from a distance, decided to join in the fun.
"Namjoon, you know you can't keep secrets from us for long. We'll find out eventually."
Yoongi, lounging on the floor, watched the scene unfold with a lazy smile.
"Why don't we just ask our leader directly? Namjoon, who's got you so distracted?"
Namjoon felt a flush of warmth creep up his neck. He wasn't prepared for this level of scrutiny, especially since he hadn't told his bandmates about Myla. He wanted to keep her to himself, to protect the fragile connection they shared from the whirlwind of his public life.
Just then, Jungkook, the youngest but perhaps the most perceptive, looked at Namjoon with wide, curious eyes.
"Hyung, did you meet someone while you were in London?"
The question was delivered with such innocence that Namjoon couldn't help but stumble. His face gave away everything before he could even think of a reply. The room went silent for a moment, the other members exchanging surprised looks before they erupted into a cacophony of excitement and curiosity.
"Namjoon met someone!"
"Who is she? What's her name?"
"Is she pretty?"
"Tell us everything!"
Namjoon held up his hands, trying to calm the onslaught of questions.
"Alright, alright, calm down! Yes, I met someone in London. Her name is Myla. She's an artist, and we've been keeping in touch."
The members quieted down, their faces a mix of shock and intrigue. Yoongi leaned back, a smirk playing on his lips.
"So that's why you've been glued to your phone. Long-distance, huh?"
Namjoon nodded, feeling a bit self-conscious.
"Yeah, it's been nice."
Hoseok clapped his hands together, beaming.
"This is so exciting! Our leader has a love story!"
Jin nudged Namjoon playfully.
"Why didn't you tell us sooner?"
Namjoon shrugged, a sheepish smile on his face.
"I don't know. I guess I just wanted to keep it to myself for a while. It's different, and I didn't want to jinx it."
Taehyung leaned in closer, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Tell us more about her, Hyung. What's she like?"
Namjoon felt a warmth spread through him as he thought about Myla.
"She's amazing. She loves nature, action films, and always has marshmallows and whipped cream on her hot chocolate. We both love cycling, and she doesn't know who I am. It was refreshing."
The members listened intently, their teasing replaced with genuine interest. They could see how much this connection meant to Namjoon, and though they joked and prodded, they were truly happy for their leader.
As they continued to ask questions and Namjoon shared bits and pieces about Myla, he realised just how much he appreciated having his bandmates' support. It was a reminder that no matter where life took them, they were always a family, ready to share in each other's joys and challenges.
As the day went on, Namjoon found himself even more eager to write his next letter to Myla, knowing that he had the support and curiosity of his BTS brothers behind him.
