„My Dearest Lorraine,

I trust this letter finds you in good spirits.
As I sit down to write these words, memories of our shared experiences flood my mind, reminding me of you.
Life has a way of presenting us with twists and turns, but through it all, your consistent support has been like a solid foundation for me, providing strength during these challenging times.
I want to take this opportunity to express my deep appreciation for your love and unwavering support. Your kindness, compassion, and enduring loyalty have been a constant source of comfort for me.

As we look ahead to the future, I am filled with optimism and excitement. I can't wait to see you again, my love.
With you by my side, I am confident that we can overcome any challenge and embrace the opportunities that come our way.
Know that you mean the world to me, and I can't thank you enough for being such an important part of my life. No, the most important part of my life.
The memories we've made together are priceless, and I cherish every single one of them.
I love you, dear.

With heartfelt gratitude and affection,
Johnny."

With each word that danced across the paper, her heart swelled with love and longing. Tears welled up in her eyes, blurring the inked lines, as she struggled to process the flood of emotions crashing against the walls of her heart.
In utter shock, she clutched the letter to her chest, the weight of its contents sinking deep into her soul.

Seeking solace in his memory, she reached for his old jacket that was hung up by a few soldiers, just a few hours before.
It was worn and weathered but still infused with his scent. As she wrapped herself in its comforting embrace, she could almost feel his presence beside her, his warmth almost hugging her.
Almost.

With a heavy heart, she whispered her final goodbyes, her voice choked with sorrow.
In that moment, she realized that no amount of time could dull the ache of his absence. And as she looked up at the night sky, she knew that her world would never be the same again.
