Chapter 2: Midnight Summer Sonata~

After putting the flower buds into their hair, the three girls soon started a chat with Taniyah handing Yiru a couple of snacks she still had on hand. And while Yiru happily smiled, she ended up hiding the said snacks in her pocket which made the yellow rose princess raise an eyebrow.

However, she didn't mind it and shook it off before having another bite of her patty as the hummingbirds tweeted, probably speaking about how the minor decorations were finally done.

"Oh, you're all done? Great, now I can finally hang these up when we get to the castle~!" said Yiru as she carried the finished floral wreaths as many of them were beautifully braided into one another, leaving the princesses in awe, with Clara praising Yiru and the birds for their skills in what some might call "flower weaving", a known artform where servant girls would braid vines and other planets with flowers together to decorate a room for special events. Though, normally nowadays, it would be done by all people. "And I think I'm all done for the day."

"That's great, Yiru!" Clara cheered, a bright smile on her lips as Yiru giggled. However, the trio soon heard the glass doors swing open as the governess swept in, along with other servants among her. The woman giving Yiru a cold stare, as if to question the little girl before bowing toward the two princesses. "Uh oh,"

"On the contrary, Ms. Kim Yiru, you aren't quite finished with your chores just yet," she stated, only to see Yiru flinch and get up from where she was sitting.

It was as if Clara was looking at a different person, seeing her new friend bowing to the princesses and rushing towards the governess who was with the castle steward, who was already giving her a list of orders that she seemingly forgot to do, which gave the little one quite the shock. "Apologies princesses, did this little one bother you?" The two only shaking their heads in response.

"Oh no ma'dam, Yiru wasn't bothering us at all." Taniyah answered, though, Clara could only look at her friend, seeing how nervous she had suddenly gotten. The castle steward soon gave Yiru a list of things to get, however, the scroll of it seemed to trail down the ground toward her feet. Yiru's eyes could only widen at how long the list was.

"Oh sweet Jesus," Clara mumbled under her breath, though, the castle steward only snatched the list away from the little servant girl.

"Now hold on, there was something that I forgot to put in." he said, only to edit a part of the list with a black pen, shocking Yiru with the task.

"Gah! Pick up the dresses from the Bibbty Bobbity Boutique, sir I can't do all of this! I'm a gardener!" Yiru whined, turning to the steward with sparkling eyes. "Plus, they normally fly away from me!" Yiru then slightly flapped her arms around, describing the situation.

"Well, we are understaffed as it is with the ball Ms. Yiru, I suggest you get to it." the steward replied, Taniyah only looking at the list that was in Yiru's hands. The fact that it was able to reach to the girl's feet made Clara worry as her friend looked nervous. Sure, she was a servant for the castle, but this just seemed wrong that the pink rose princess wasn't able to handle. Clara then watched as most of the governess and three servants swiftly walked out of the greenhouse before calling out to the steward.

"Hold on a moment," she spoke out, the steward turned around, seeing the little princess who was a bit shorter than him. "Is it alright if we help her?" she asked, putting a hand on Yiru's back and gesturing towards her. The steward only rose an eyebrow.

"Define 'we', Princess Clarissa," he said, being a bit displeased at Clara's question.

"Well, if my cousin and I were to help Yiru with the extra chores that need to be done, perhaps it can go faster," Clara started to explain, her ponytail bouncing around as she turned her head to Yiru and back to the steward. "And plus, we'd be able to try on our dresses early to make sure they fit." The little princess had a point, and the steward never liked how much she was able to have good clapbacks if it wasn't for Taniyah's way of defense.
