𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞LIFE UNSURPRISINGLY WASN'T the same after the fight, Miguel fell into a coma, Robby got arrested and Cobra Kai turned into a bunch of bullies. Including Eli.
Omaryn wanted no parts in the bullying so she kept her distance as much as she could, which was sort of impossible since they were in the same team.
It was the first day back from her suspension and finding classes in the school was impossible.
Finally she found room three-hundred— and since the universe loved her Eli was in the class, sitting in the front, too busy talking with his friend to notice her at first.
"Mrs. Lopez? I'm sorry I can't quite pronounce you're first name." The teacher awkwardly announced.
She was used to people not knowing her name, it wasn't a big deal, her name was unique.
"It's O—Mar—ren."
"Yes, thank you." He smiled gratefully. "Take any seat you please, Omaryn."
Omaryn cringed at his mispronunciation but shrugged it off and took the only available seat in the front which was by a blonde-haired guy.
"Hello." She greeted with a small wave. Back in her country it was considered disrespectful not the speak to a new face.
"H—hi." The boy stammered, his cheeks so red you'd think she flashed him her tits or something.
Her eyes flickered to his open notebook that had an unfinished drawing. "You're crazy talented, American can draw."
"Um— actually i'm Puerto Rican."
"No shit, ¿hablas español?" Omaryn was excited to finally meet someone who wasn't American.
"Un poco me enseñó mi papá." He answered.
His use of past tense made her frown but she minded her business and nodded, continuing the conversation by asking random starter questions.
Hawk dropped his snarky grin at the sound of a familiar laugh, he saw her laughing at another guys joke.
What could that nerd have possibly said that was that funny?
He clenched his jaw and moved his gaze away momentarily.
Unfortunately for Omaryn her next class wasn't any better, it was U.S History and she had yet another unwelcome guest.
It was Moon who hadn't seen since the fight. And of course her assigned seat was right beside her.
"... hey."
Moon turned to look at her, her face a mask of conflicting emotions. Anger, hurt, betrayal.
The room seemed to grow still as they sat there, side by side, not quite looking at each other. Omaryn felt a lump form in her throat as she fought back the urge to cry.
She couldn't believe how stupid she'd been, how selfish. She'd never meant for any of this to happen.
Moon finally broke the silence, her voice barely above a whisper. "Hey."
Omaryn looked up, her eyes meeting Moon's. There was a flicker of something in her expression, something that gave Omaryn hope. Maybe they could still be friends.
Maybe they could find a way to move past this.
"I'm... sorry, Moon," Omaryn choked out. "I didn't mean for any of it to happen. I was just so stupid and I didn't know what I was doing."
Moon looked away, pursing her lips. "I know."
The silence that followed was heavy, oppressive. Omaryn could feel Moon's gaze on her, weighing her words, searching for any hint of insincerity.
She knew that she couldn't expect forgiveness just like that. Not after what she'd done.
"So... you're a super model now?"
Moon's question took Omaryn by surprise. She couldn't help but smile, despite the awkwardness of the situation. "I—I wouldn't say that. But yeah, I've been doing a few photo shoots."
Their conversation continued in a stilted, tentative manner. They talked about the fight that took place and other girl things.
Omaryn was glad that Moon didn't bring up the kiss again. She knew it would take time for her to forgive her. But she was hopeful that they could eventually move past it.
Moon even invited her to sit by her at lunch which she new wasn't gonna turn out well.
Sam eyes widened at the sight of her walking up to her table with Moon. "What the hell?"
Omaryn sat down, feeling a mixture of guilt and awkwardness. She glanced over at Moon, who looked just as uncomfortable as she felt.
"Thanks for inviting her to sit with us," Sam
scoffed sarcastically. "I mean, after everything that happened.""Holding grudges is not healthy for the soul, I choose to forgive Omaryn, you should too." Moon defended.
Sam's jaw clenched. "Forgive her? She kissed the guy you were obsessed with? That's a slutty thing to do!"
"Watch your fucking mouth, puta!" Omaryn furrowed her eyebrows with anger.
Moon turned her head towards the two in panic. "Sam, I think you're overreacting! It happened to me not you!"
"You know what? You're right. Sorry for trying to be a loyal friend!" With that, she stood up abruptly, pushing her chair back so roughly that it fell over with a loud clatter.
