Evelyn couldn't recall how she was currently munching on some left over pasta adjacent to Connor whilst the lime skinned girl sat across her along with Dick, who was sat at the edge of the table playing with his food as if he were in deep thought. It felt as though one minute the girl had laid eyes on her ex lover and the next was devouring her dinner in order to distract herself from the male a few feet from her.
“So, what did you do back in your homeland?” The male with the superman logo shirt was the first to break the awkward silence.
“Nothing much other than laying low since mother feared that my father's murderer would hunt us down. Luckily, even though we came face to face with him, mother took care of it but it wasn't easy.” The girl released a sigh as she leaned back in her chair.
“That must've been a difficult time.” Megan whispered with pity swarming in her chocolate orbs. Evelyn couldn't help but stiffen due to the sorrow radiating off of the lime skinned girl. She didn't like being pitied. Infact, the long haired girl despised feeling vulnerable and small yet she was unable to voice out her thoughts. Instead, she began to convince herself how Megan meant no harm by it.
She means well.
Sensing the girl's discomfort, Dick coughed blaringly, earning a side eye from the green skinned girl. Gaining the courage to finally speak since he had remained silent throughout dinner due to a certain someone's presence, he finally spoke.
“Wally and Artemis would be happy to see you.” Instantly Dick's ocean orbs were met by the tanned girl's own emerald orbs causing the latter to curse internally.
Fuck. I forgot how beautiful her eyes were.
Shifting her gaze away from her ex, an immediate grin full of glee crept on her face whilst her eyes began to twinkle like the silver stars that shone in the night sky.
“Oh yeah, where are the two? Are they still out of the hero biz? If I remember correctly they both left the same night I left the team, right?” Evelyn arched her thick eyebrow as she looked between Connor and Megan, awaiting for their responses.
“Yeah, they left the same night you did.” The male in the Superman logo shirt answered.
“We miss them but we know they're both happy with their new life.” The lime skinned girl stated causing the rest of the three to nod at her words.
“Well I guess I'll give them a surprise visit then.” A chuckle erupted from Evelyn’s lips before she finished her final spoon of noodles.
“Speaking of the ‘OG’ team, where's Kaldur'ahm?” Silence. Furrowing her eyebrows, she could sense how there was a hint of discomfort and disappointment radiating off of the three sitting at the table. As Dick opened his mouth to speak, Megan interjected before he could say anything.
“He joined his father.” The jade orbd girl's mouth fell slightly agape as she tried to comprehend what the ginger has just apoken.
Father?
