Conversations and laughter filled the huge and gorgeously decorated venue, combined with the sounds of the 2008 song Wobble by V.I.C, as it played from the speakers.
Guests were either seated at tables talking amongst themselves, recording videos and snapping pictures, or on the dance floor doing the classic line dance.
Today was the day that Derrick and India officially tied the knot, so of course Von and his girlfriend of three years, Nova, came through to show their support.
Dayvon was given the honor of being the best man, while Nova was one of the bridesmaids. She and India met years ago at a fashion show in Manhattan, and became really good friends.
The service was beyond beautiful, and left plenty of the guests in tears. Of joy, that is. Both Derrick and India had family fly out from Chicago to celebrate this special occasion as well. Overall, it was such a memorable and heartfelt day.
"Look at yo' lady, man." One of Von's homeboys, Jamell, nudged him before nodding towards Nova.
She had one hand on the ground and the other one on her back, with her butt in the air as she bounced it up and down. India, along with a few of her female cousins and their mutual friends hyped her up and smacked her behind.
To be fair, the lyrics of the song were currently saying 'Show me what ya got, show me what ya got!', so that's what she was doing.
Although the dance didn't call for twerking, Nova was full of liquor and she didn't care what the steps were. If she wanted to shake some ass then that's what she was going to do.
Dayvon couldn't do anything but shake his head as he took another sip out of his almost empty champagne glass.
He wasn't even near as intoxicated as she was. So far he'd only had one shot of Vodka and a glass of champagne.
Nova on the other hand had taken three shots and drunk a strawberry lemon drop mixed with Hennessy.
Watching her closely for the next few seconds, he stood up once he saw that her dress was riding up. Her cheeks were about to be put on display for a room full of people, and he wasn't having it.
The other ladies did her the justice of pulling it down for her, but it was too late. Weaving through the crowd as best as he could, Von made his way over.
He tapped Nova, and when she caught sight of him he motioned for her to stand upright with a displeased look on his face. Her smile faded and turned into a pout once he grabbed her hand and dragged her away.
