As the morning light filtered through the windows, casting a soft glow over the room, Pooh stood in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for Pavel. His hands shook slightly as he cracked eggs into the skillet, his mind consumed with worry and sadness.

Pavel entered the kitchen, his expression solemn as he watched Pooh work. "You don't have to do this, Pooh," he said gently, his voice tinged with sadness.

Pooh turned to face Pavel, tears welling up in his eyes. "But I want to," he replied, his voice trembling with emotion. "I don't want you to go."

Pavel stepped forward, wrapping his arms around Pooh in a tight embrace. "I have to go, Pooh. It's my duty," he said softly, holding Pooh close.

Pooh buried his face in Pavel's chest, clinging to him desperately. "But what if something happens to you?" he whispered, his voice choked with tears.

Pavel pulled back slightly, cupping Pooh's face in his hands. "I'll be careful, I promise," he said firmly, his eyes filled with determination.

They stood there for a moment, locked in a tender embrace, each unwilling to let go. Eventually, Pavel gently pulled away, wiping away Pooh's tears with his thumb.

"I'll be back, Pooh. I promise," he said softly, pressing a kiss to Pooh's forehead.

Pooh nodded, his heart heavy with sorrow. "I'll be waiting for you," he whispered, his voice barely above a whisper.

With a heavy heart, Pooh helped Pavel put on his uniform, his hands shaking as he fastened the buttons and adjusted the collar. He carefully pinned five stars onto Pavel's chest, a symbol of his rank and bravery.

As Pavel donned his army cap, Pooh reached out and took it from him, placing it on his own head with a determined look in his eyes. He stood at attention, saluting Pavel with tears streaming down his face.

"Good luck, Captain," Pooh said, his voice trembling with emotion.

Pavel returned the salute, his eyes shining with pride and affection. "Thank you, Pooh," he replied softly, his voice filled with gratitude. Then Pooh gave the army cap to pavel, adjusting it on his head with a proud smile on his face.

Before Pavel could leave, Pooh ran to him, clutching a small necklace in his hand. "Take this," he said, pressing it into Pavel's palm. "It's an amulet for protection. I want you to wear it and stay safe."

Pavel looked down at the necklace, his heart swelling with emotion. "Thank you, Pooh," he said softly, his voice thick with emotion. "I'll treasure it always."

With a final embrace, Pavel turned and made his way to the waiting army jeep, his heart heavy with sorrow at leaving Pooh behind. As the jeep pulled away, Pooh stood in the driveway, watching with tear-filled eyes, his hand clutching Pavel's handkerchief to his chest.

As the dust settled and the jeep disappeared from view, Pooh sank to his knees, overcome with grief. He clutched Pavel's handkerchief to his chest, breathing in the faint scent of his beloved, his heart aching with longing and fear.

But amidst the sorrow, there was also hope. Hope that Pavel would return safely, and that their love would endure even the darkest of days. And with that hope in his heart, Pooh rose to his feet, determined to wait for Pavel's return, no matter how long it took.
