Princess Athena's POV:
"You're getting married". My father said.
" I what"? I asked him, shocked about the news I'd heard.
"No no", "maybe I'm just overhearing things". I thought to myself.
" You're getting married". My father says it again slowly. " Okay, I'm not overhearing things". I thought.
After he said it again, I couldn't utter a reply, I was speechless. There's a thick tension in the room, an uncomfortable silence lingering.
The silence became too unbearable for me, so I cleared my throat and spoke.
"Ehem"... "B-by w-who"? I ask with a trembling voice.
"By Prince Ezekiel, the Prince of the West". He replies.
" What"??? " That Prince"??? I ask.
"Yes honey, you're marrying that Prince". My father says.
" Wait, why are you reacting this way"? He asks.
" Well"... I answer hesitantly. "I've heard some rumors about him".
"Like what"? He asks.
"I heard that he's an arrogant, rude, bastard, and mean, in short, a bad person". " Besides, I can rule our Kingdom on my own without a man". I answer.
After I said those words, my father chuckled. "What"? I asked puzzled.
"Well," he said in between laughs. "It's just rumors darling", "which means, there's a possible chance it wasn't true". "Don't worry, Prince Ezekiel is a good man".
" And how can you be sure about that"? I ask.
"I can see that he's a good man, "I mean, after I've been in many Kingdoms to ask for help", and "Prince Ezekiel's Kingdom was the only one who's willing to help with our problem right now". He answers.
What problem you might ask? The problem that my father's talking about is that We need more military force because our force is getting weaker. But it's fine, I can fight myself whenever there's a battle, and I can train our soldiers to become stronger. But here I am, talking to him, and just found out that I'll be marrying the Prince of the West.
"So you mean", "you ally with them"? I ask.
" Yes honey, I did". He answers.
"Prince Ezekiel will help us, in exchange, you need to marry him". He continues.
" So is it a yes? Or a no". My father asks with anticipation in his voice.
"No"...
