Princess Athena's POV:
"No"... I reply with a firm voice.
"W-what do you mean no"? my father asked.
" No, I'm not gonna marry that Prince". I reply.
" But why"? He asks.
" Dada, we're fine without their help, I can fight whenever there's a battle, and I can help train our soldiers to be stronger". I said.
" I know that Athena". "I know you can fight, I know that you can train our soldiers, and I know that you're going to be a strong Queen, a strong leader to our Kingdom one day". " Because you are the daughter of Queen Isabela The First, and King Philip The Fourth, the blood of a warrior runs in your veins". "But we need this, we need their help". He said with seriousness in his eyes.
"You're always telling me that we need this, that we need their help"! I reply with a little bit of anger in my voice.
"Why"? "What's the reason"? I ask after I calmed myself down.
He sighs and stays quiet. And after some time, he said.
"Because"... After he said those words, he couldn't utter the next thing he wanted to say, and I could see the vulnerability in his eyes, he was contemplating, whether he'd tell me or not.
"Da, are you hiding something from me"? I ask.
Silence...
" Da"? He signals for me to be quiet.
"Ehem"... He cleared his throat.
" You know". He starts.
"I'm doing this for you".
"Da"... Before I could ask what he was talking about, he shushed me and continued.
"I'm doing this, so if I'm not anymore in this world, you'll not be alone and feel lonely". He said almost on the verge of tears.
"W-what d-do y-you m-mean"? I ask puzzled, with a trembling voice, and also, almost on the verge of tears. I didn't expect this will gonna happened.
"Athena" ... "I have a condition"... "I'm sick"...
