A young, seven year old elf was walking through a forest, glancing around with each step. His name was Verroll, and he had left his home and had ended up here.

But how?

Let's go back, shall we? Verroll is an elven prince, with pinky-red messy hair, pointed ears, slightly tanned skin and green eyes. So you're probably wondering - why did he leave? The answer is simple; he wasn't accepted. He had overheard a conversation about him between his parents and these strange people, revealing that he could use dark magic. This immediately made him what people would describe as an outcast, a villain. A few days after, he had left since he had gotten into an argument with his parents.

As he had left, Verroll had stumbled across a cave, and later on a gate which was radiating light. Obviously being a curious seven year old, Verroll had gone through the gate and had ended up in a place that had only been mentioned as something of a myth in books - The Inbetween. Verroll wandered for a while, before tripping and falling through one of the 'mirrors', which were made of light.

And that's how he ended up here. He continued to wander, expecting something to lash out at him at any moment. He had brought his lance, which was larger than him at this point, and he had brought a satchel containing food, water, first-aid kits etc. And he wore a crescent mood necklace around his neck as well.

After what felt life hours of walking, Verroll stumbled across a house, which was the start of a village. At that moment, a young boy, who looked slightly younger than Verroll, came running out of said house. The young boy didn't look like anyone Verroll had ever met - half of his hair was green, the other half black. He had red eyes, and his ears were like nothing he had ever seen. The boy was laughing as he was chased out by an older man, who had black hair and red eyes. They both stopped when they saw Verroll.

"Uhm... Hi?" Verroll took a cautious step back.

"Hello!" the young boy ran up to him. "Ooo, your ears are pointy! They look really cool!" He giggled. The man also had the same ears as they boy did, and he walked up to them.

"Are you lost?" He gently asked. "You look far too young to be out by yourself... Where are your parents?" Verroll looked down, clutching his satchel.

"I... Ran away, sir." Verroll admitted. The man blinked in surprise.

"That unbearable, huh?" He sighed slightly.

"Oh, oh! What's your name?" The boy asked. "I'm Phoenix! Phoenix Fernlow!"

"Oh, uhm... My name is Verroll." He politely said in return.

"Verroll, ey? Now, that's a name you don't hear around here, ain't that right Phoenix?" The man thoughtfully said.

"Yes, I've never met a Verroll before!" Phoenix grinned, and shook Verroll's hand. "It's so nice to meet you!"

"And you." Verroll found himself smiling slightly.

"Hey, Verroll, was it...? How old are you?" The man asked.

"I am seven, sir." Verroll replied.

"Seven?! Ay, that's so young... And yet, you speak as though you are beyond your years." The man said, thinking again. "Anyways, I'm Lee Fernlow, Phoenix's father."

"A pleasure to meet you, sir." Verroll politely replied. "I know we've just met, but... Could I stay here a while?" He nervously asked. Just then, a woman came out.

"Ay, Lee, what's going on out here? Oh my." She noticed Verroll. He did look quite a state, as he hadn't been getting much sleep and had been going without a break. There were dirt smudges on his face and his clothes were ripped in a few places. "Dear, are you alright?" She hurried over to Verroll and he noticed that she had green hair and light blue eyes, and the same ears as the other two did. "Oh, how rude. I haven't even introduced myself! I am Evelyn."
