Han Li opened the remaining jade boxes one by one.One box contained a small green porcelain bottle, and the other held a fist-sized, purple misty object. Casually opening the green bottle and taking a whiff, a pungent and spicy scent hit his nose. His face immediately changed, and he quickly re-capped the bottle as if it were a venomous scorpion. He then carefully examined the bottle with a peculiar look on his face before cautiously placing it into his storage pouch.
Finally, his gaze fell upon the purple glowing object. Taking it in his hand, he gently squeezed it with his fingers, finding it soft and pliable. As he did so, tendrils of light flickered brightly within the glow.
"Ah!" Han Li exclaimed in surprise, focusing his divine sense on the object.
After a moment, he seemed to realize something, and with a flick of his hand, the glowing object turned into a cloud of purple mist, swirling above his head. After casting a spell on it, the mist revealed its true form and fell back into his hand. It was a finely woven purple net, with threads so thin they were nearly invisible, glistening with light—a rare and exquisite treasure.
"Is this the 'Purple Altar Net'? This ancient treasure was quite renowned during the Barbarian Era," the white fox exclaimed in shock upon recognizing the net.
"You know this item? Is it one of those famous Heavenly Treasures?" Han Li asked, his eyes flashing with excitement, though he tried to keep his emotions in check.
"Not quite. While the Purple Altar Net is among the highest-grade ancient treasures, it falls far short compared to Heavenly Treasures. However, in terms of defensive capabilities, it's exceptionally powerful. Once deployed, it can cover an area from hundreds to even thousands of feet, making it a rare large-scale defensive treasure. The most advanced Purple Altar Nets are said to protect an area within a hundred miles, keeping all living beings within safe from harm. It's also incredibly potent for trapping enemies, capable of unleashing 'Jade Sun True Fire' to annihilate formidable foes," the white fox explained knowledgeably.
"Silvermoon, you seem to know a lot about this Purple Altar Net. Have you seen it before?" Han Li asked curiously, with a hint of complexity in his expression.
Silvermoon fell silent for a moment, then sighed and said with a bitter smile, "Now that you mention it, I realize that before I was turned into a spirit tool, I seem to have come across a Purple Altar Net in my remaining memories. That's why I know so much about it."
As she spoke, Silvermoon seemed lost in thought, as if recalling something, but soon she shook her head and gave up.
"This Purple Altar Net is indeed formidable. It's a pity, though, that during our search of Cang Kun Master's legacy, none of the boxes contained information about the Demon Abyss. It seems the relevant items ended up in Nanlong Hou's two jade boxes. Such a shame," Han Li said with a self-deprecating smile, though his expression showed little actual disappointment.
He understood well that while obtaining the secrets of the Demon Abyss could lead to great opportunities, it would also attract countless old monsters and powerful factions if the news leaked out, making it a perilous endeavor.
"Master, didn't that jade slip contain anything?" Silvermoon finally couldn't resist asking.
"The jade slip recorded Cang Kun Master's techniques and supernatural powers. Though the main cultivation technique, 'Moon Viewing Art,' isn't suitable for me, several of the secret arts and cultivation insights can be quite beneficial," Han Li explained calmly.
Silvermoon sighed and seemed a bit downcast.
At this point, Han Li put away the jade boxes and, after instructing Silvermoon, closed his eyes and began meditating.
