Sometimes he really wondered
what he did in this place.

Again.

One ice cube was slowly turning
in his glass before it fell into the
drink with a soft 'blub'.

All those years he had asked
himself why he did this to his heart,
why he continued to visit the place
that held so many memories.

Good ones, bad ones, nostalgic ones.

Nothing had really changed.

The warm, yellow neon sign light
was still flickering from time to time
on the red brick stone wall, the old,
pastel pink armchair still stood in
the corner with that familiar cat face
pillow and even the same bartender
was still working there.

Yang Jeongin, as he had
learned over the time.

A cute beta with two pretty black
piercings adoring his lip and
eyebrow, a few strands of his black
hair dyed in a light blonde color.

He had been there, serving him
all kinds of drinks over the years
that described the things that had
happened over the time.

But it had started and ended
with a glass of whiskey.

There weren't many people in the
bar at such an hour, it was close to
midnight but he knew that he
couldn't leave yet.

Not before he had passed by.

"It's your third glass already, I
think you should go home, huh?"

Jeongin smiled at the familiar man
when he lifted his hand for a refill.

"No, I'll wait."

"Are you sure he'll come?
It's been what.. Five months?"

"Six months, two weeks
and four days."

The alpha replied,
not even stuttering because
he knew by heart how many days
he had been waiting already.

Waiting and hoping for something
that might never return again.

"I'm just saying that..
Ah, never mind. But I'm not
giving you any more whiskey.
How about a light cocktail?"

"Do whatever makes
you sleep at night."

He wasn't sure how many times
he had watched Jeongin mix cocktails
but he was pretty sure that this was
the longest they've ever talked.

The alpha's pointy black ears
turned at the sound of the door
opening with a squeak but he
didn't even need to see the
person to know who it was.

Caramel and coffee.

He'd never forget the scent
he had fallen in love with
such a long time ago.

"I told you he'd come.
Because today it's been
exactly a year."
