As you rounded the corner, your mind buzzes with all the different possibilities that lay ahead. You could feel the determination coursing through your veins, a relentless drive to rise to the top. Deep down, this was more than just about proving yourself- it was about claiming your place and showing your strength.
'They'll see soon enough' you think, your resolve growing stronger. 'Just because I started late doesn't mean I'm weak'
As you make your way out of the school gates and walk down the street you pull out your phone and start to call Keigo. 'Honestly, the thought of being underestimated is almost laughable. I've endured FAR worse than any of those students could imagine' your thoughts are soon cut short when the call picks up on the other line.
"Hey Kid!" Hawks says enthusiastically.
You can't help but smile at the familiar voice. "Hey Keigo. I just got out of school. How's everything on your end?"
Before he can respond, a sudden gust of wind rustles your hair, followed by a red feather falling in front of your face. Seeing this you smirk and look up to see a familiar figure descending from the sky. Hawks land in front of you with a playful smirk on his face.
"I take it everything's going well?" you say with a slight chuckle
"How could you guess?" he says with a grin on his face. You roll your eyes and start to walk in front of him.
"Yeah, I just wrapped up a couple patrols, but that doesn't matter. How was your first day?" he says while tucking his wings behind him, easing the tension you've been feeling.
You let out a small laugh, surprised but happy to see him. "I mean, you could say it was eventful. Got lost, met some nice classmates, and maybe told off a few people" you say, your voice slightly laughing at the last part.
Hawks laughs, the sound warm and reassuring. "That's my girl! Gotta show em who's boss from the start. But what's up? You seem like you got something on your mind."
'Geez this guy is perceptive' you think with a sweat drop. You take a deep breath, "Actually, I wanted to ask you something called the U.A Sports Festival. Some of the students were talking about it, and it sounds like a big deal. So what's the story?"
"Ah, the U.A. Sports Festival," Hawks says, his tone becoming a bit more serious. "It's the biggest event for hero students. Think of it like the Olympics but for future heroes. It's a chance for students to showcase their quirks and abilities to the public and pro-heroes alike. A lot of top agencies scout talent there, so it's a prime opportunity for anyone looking to make a name for themselves."
