Mason POV:

"MASON HURRY UP OR WE'LL BE LATE!" I jumped awake at the sound of my annoyed brother outside my door. I sighed when I realized it was Monday. I then panicked for the same reason.

"Fuck! You scared the shit outta me, Paul! Maybe knock next time?" I let out an exhausted sigh, slipping out of bed when my brother opened the door. He rolled his eyes when he seen my current attire. "Don't you own a shirt? And FYI, I did knock. Three times. It's not my fault you didn't set an alarm."

I'm gonna ignore that for one reason. Accountability? Who's that? Never met her.  I walk over to my small closet before addressing my brother's existence. "If you don't want to see me in my sports bra, then stay outta my room. It's not hard."  I quickly grab a pair of Joggers and a short sleeve oversized Nirvana shirt, that I may or may not have stolen from Paul.

He scoffs as I push past him and into the bathroom, locking the door. I rush as I get dressed and brush my hair. I stop long enough to do basic hygiene though before running downstairs and to the truck. We peel out of the driveway when I notice the clock.

I look at Paul with a glare. "You Idiot! We didn't need to leave for another 15 minutes!" His hands tighten around the steering wheel before he sighs out, "You know, you're lucky you're my sister. Any one who spoke to me like that would get their ass kicked. I know we had time, but Kourtney and I made plans to meet before school."

Kourtney? Who the hell is that? I look back over at Paul before it clicks. "You woke me up early....so you can meet up...with your new flavor of the week? Are you INSANE?! Like seriously?! Who in their right mind would do that?!"

I go to carry on, but he swiftly cuts me off, "Yeah you're one to talk. Look at you! You realize you're never gonna have a boyfriend right? Guys don't like girls that dress like that." I narrow my eyes as he glances in my direction, "Shut up, Paul! Aren't big brothers supposed to NOT want their sister dating? And who says I'm into guys anyways?"

He goes quiet. Whether he's choosing to end the argument, or he just knows I'm right, I can't tell. I also don't really care. I live for annoying him every chance I get.

I feel my phone buzzing in my pocket but choose to ignore it. I'm not in the mood for people. We soon pull into the hell hole that is our school. Paul's a Senior; I'm a Junior.

*buzz* *buzz*

Jesus Christ who the hell is calling me?!

I tank my phone from my pocket, seeing name of Paul's best friend pop up I answer.

(J= Jared, M=Mason)

M: Sunny Side abortion clinic: No Fetus can beat us! How may I direct your call?

J: Yeah I'd like to make an appointment with Dr. Ben Dover.

M: ha! Ok but seriously what do you want?

J: Where the hell is he? He was supposed to be my ride today!

M: Jesus H Christ! He brought me to school 15 minutes early so he can suck face with a cheerleader. Do you want me to come get you?

J: Please?

M: On my way. Luckily, I snuck the extra truck key. See you in a sec, Bye!

J: Thanks, Nerd! Byeee!

I hang up before fishing the key out of my bag and getting in the drivers seat. The drive was short, mostly filled with my singing (screaming) the words to my music as it flowed through the speakers.

I pull up to see not only Jared, but Seth Clearwater there too. I knew about Seth. His sister and her ex-fiancé graduated when we were freshman. I've never talked to him, but he seemed cool. I quickly roll down the window to shout for them.

"Get in losers, we're going shopping!" I see Jared shake his head, suppressing a chuckle, as he jogs over. "Mace, this is Seth. I hope you don't mind. His sister left for work early this morning."

I quickly shake my head, leaning over to open the passenger door while he grabs the young Clearwater. I hate this damn truck. A few years ago, Paul and I got T-boned by a drunk driver. Luckily, neither of us were seriously hurt. Unluckily, the passenger door only opens from the inside now. Even Jacob Black didn't know how to fix it.

Both boys hop in and buckle up. I put the truck back in gear before I pull off, sneaking a glance at the boy beside me. He's so pretty. I hear a snort from next to me followed by an overdramatized gag. I freeze before glancing back at them. Seth wearing a soft smile, while Jared looks uncomfortable.

"I said that out loud didn't I?" The younger boy nodded, a blush on his cheeks. I internally cringe at myself, trying to stay focused on the road. Why does the ride back feel so much longer? I sneak one more glance catching Seth's gaze.

"For what it's worth. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that out loud." He doesn't respond for a moment, almost like he's thinking. When he does, it catches me off guard. "It's okay. I don't mind. You're pretty too. Wanna start over?" He's so sweet. Wait. Is....Does he have eyeliner on? It looks good on him.

I realize he's still waiting for a response as I snap outta my thoughts, pulling into the parking lot. I finally look over at him when Jared finally hops out. "I'd love to. Hello, my name is Mason Lahote. You can call me Mace."

He blushes again as I smirk before he sticks out his hand shaking it with mine. "Hello, my name is Seth Clearwater. Nice to meet you."
