Mariya and Liya got enrolled in their new school and they got friends. Neeyu was one of the welcoming committee member and she was in the same class as Mariya. Mariya encountered a girl named Grace Dawson who was over confident and made her furious on the first day. Neeyu warned Mariya not to encounter Grace again. The sisters got home and did their afternoon routine had dinner and slept.
The next day;
As usual the girls woke up and did their morning routine had their breakfast and left for school. Mariya saw Neeyu in the entrance and they left for their respective class.
Neeyu: Morning dude.
Mariya: Morning Neeyu.
Neeyu: Did you complete the assignments given by
Mr. Hunter?
Mariya: Yes I did. What about you?
Neeyu: I haven't and never do those.
Mariya looked her in disbelief and Neeyu spanked her head. Grace saw Neeyu and Mariya coming and wanted make Mariya regret. So she bumped on her intentionally and pretended to fell down on the floor.
Grace: Hey kid, don't you know how to walk? You bumped on me and I fell to the ground. My ankle sprained.
Neeyu: Ms. Dawson you are the one who bumped on us and don't blame her for your mistake.
Grace: Ms. Richmond I didn't ask you and just shut up.
Neeyu: You shut up Grace Dawson and don't -..
Mariya stopped Neeyu from quarreling and leaned towards Grace who was on the floor and grabbed her leg.
Mariya: Ms. Dawson I'm sorry for your pain and don't call me kid again, I have a name and call me wit that.
Neeyu: Mariya why are you apologising to her. She was the one who hit us first.
Mariya: Just leave it Neeyu and we have to clean up the mess we did.
Mariya gripped Grace's foot and turned it to other side and stood straight. Grace was shouting in pain.
Mariya: Your sprain will be okay within 5 minutes and if it still hurts then take pain killers.
Mariya grabbed Neeyu's hand and left for their class and wished Richard Hunter and took their respective desk.
Neeyu: You got guts girl.
Richard Hunter: Good morning class. I'm going to give you a surprise test. So get ready for it.
The whole class started to whine. Mariya just smiled softly at their expression. Richard Hunter caught her smiling and asked her.
Richard Hunter: Ms. Mariya why are you smiling and not surprised.
The whole class turned their attention to her and was curious.
Mariya: No sir, It's that the class is whining like a little child that's why I smiled. And I'm not surprised Sir. Because in my old school we will write tests daily. Atleast one subject test for one day. So I'm not surprised. It's just it.
The whole class was surprised at her statement and Richard was even more surprised to hear that from her.
Richard Hunter: Wow intresting. Now guys get ready for your tests and get your question papers.
The class started the test and completed their surprise test and Richard Hunter was astonished by Mariya's performance.
Richard Hunter: Guys the results are out now come and get your results. You guys will be surprised to know who got first mark.
Neeyu: Definitely Karina would have got the first mark. So what's to get surprised about that.
Richard Hunter: Ms. Richmond first let me finish and Ms. Smith was the second one not the first one.
Karina was surprised to know that she was second and was curious to know the girl.
Karina: Mr. Hunter then tell us who was the first one and why I was not the first one.
Richard Hunter: Ms. Smith you got two questions wrong.
The class got more curious and asked Richard Hunter to reveal the suspense. Richard Hunter smiled and called the person only found the class startled and Karina was furious.
Richard Hunter: Ms. Mariya can you come to the front.
Mariya went and stood in front of Richard Hunter and smiled at him.
Richard Hunter: So class Mariya was the first with all questions right.
Mariya: Thank you sir.
Mariya just smiled at him and went to her desk and sat with neutral expression. Richard got more curious at her reaction so he decided to ask.
Richard Hunter: Ms. Mariya you got first mark but you just smiled and sat on your chair humble.
Mariya: Sometimes one will get first mark and sometimes another will be the first. It's just a piece of paper and we have more papers ahead of us till our death. So there is no need to be surprised or happy in it.
Richard was so happy to hear her matured words and the class applauded.
Richard Hunter: Mariya was correct and you guys better follow that and don't get sad.
The class wind up and the students left the class for cafeteria.
