At twenty-two, Zayn finishes his second year of university. This semester break is very long and he was very determined to find a job to help himself with college finance.
Just leaning on his parents’ pay felt wrong for him.
He is overqualified to be doing part-time jobs, so he thinks doing just anything will be fine. The problem is that he has a problem with interacting with people.
Khalid and Trisya have no idea where it went wrong, but Zayn is the quietest person in the family. He used to be very talkative when he was a toddler.
Even at home, he rarely speaks. He only talks when something is really important, or something is making him really happy, and nothing more.
“Zayn.” Khalid called his son and received a hum from him in the living room, playing with his PSP.
“Has Jiyoung mentioned about the part-time job he wants you to try out?”
“Yes, he did.” Zayn replied.
“What do you think about it?” Trisya joins the quiet conversation.
“I'm fine with anything, but don't you think the position he's offering involves lots of people?” Zayn shared his piece of mind.
Kira, his younger sister, pushed him on the couch even though there’s plenty more rooms around. Zayn knows that she's doing this to annoy him.
“Move.” Zayn pushed her back.
Kira leaned against his shoulder, which she knows, Zayn hates the most when she clings around. “You should be grateful that you'll get to meet those people.”
“How about...” Zayn snatches his PSP from her hand, “...You focus on your final-year exam and strive something good in life rather than idolizing those people too much.”
“Those people?” Kira exclaimed. “Those people are K-Pop idol. Wake up, Zayn. Everybody is willing to work with them.”
Zayn shook his head in annoyance.
People in this country really loves K-Pop too much. They should realize that not everything about it is good. They may have something bad happen off cameras.
...
“I can't believe I'm doing this.” He sighed rigidly while rolling his luggage in the huge international airport.
He thought of giving a few weeks more to think about this offer, but he had dumbly agreed to play bet with his sister.
“Let's play bet.” She asked.
“Play what? Go study-"
He was cut off almost immediately. “If you agree to work for Jiyoung as soon as this week, I'll start taking my exams very seriously. Promise.”
Though Zayn always shows his lack of interest in his sister's words and games, he wants nothing other than the best for her. Of course, he would want her to take her studies properly.
Their parents aren't working for nothing. They have to repay them somehow.
Zayn travelled all the way to South Korea alone. He glanced out to the window of the cab, taking a look at the city of Seoul.
Jiyoung has prepared him an apartment to stay in. He does this all the time. He always tries to spoil him. When he was a child, he'll happily receive it. However, as he grew older, he felt embarrassed.
