Loving him was red

"Ma'am please drink your medicines." the nurse assisted Winter. She's frequently visiting the hospital these days. She was diagnosed with mild depression after finding out that she's infertile. All her life she wants to have a family of her own, but the universe seems to oppose. She never told anyone about it. She was always standing strong specially in front of her mom. She never wanted to live miserably but because she insists herself to Riki who fell in love with his stepbrother, she had to do all these. She never hated him, Kim Sunoo, it's just her mom who hated him the most. And because of her mom, Riki and Sunoo met. A tear left her eyes. She immediately wiped them when Riki entered the room.

"Did I ever agree to this engagement?" Riki said while showing his phone. It was an article about them being engaged.

"Your parents want that to happen, I also want that to happen, it's just a matter of time when you will agree" Winter replied while smiling innocently.

"I will never agree to this, you know that. Why do you keep on pushing yourself to me. There are other guys or alphas out there. You should try going out with them sometimes.' Riki replied.

"How about you? Why do you keep on looking for him? It's been years. Are you sure he still likes you or if he is still alive?" You know how powerful our family is. We can hire investigators or anyone skilled just to look for him. But he was never found. The last thing we knew is that he lost his mother. He was diagnosed with severe depression, and he can take away his li--" Winter was cut off by a chair being thrown at the door.

"Don't you ever dare say that to me. Please stop." Riki said while leaving a shocked winter in her room. He was mad and confuse. He doesn't want to stop looking but the people around him were all saying the same thing and it really gets into his nerve.

"Hey, I'm gonna throw a farewell party at my house tonight. You should come." Sunghoon said while fixing his coat. 

"Wait, why!? Are you leaving the city for good!?" Jake exclaimed. 

"No, it's not that. I was assigned in a rural hospital. I need to live there of course but I will visit here during special occasions" Sunghoon replied.

"Oh, is that so? I'm gonna miss you for real. I will tell the other guys to come." Jake said calmly.

(Hours later)

Soft music was being played. They were inside Sunghoon's condominium. It was big and spacious. Sunghoon is not living with his parents anymore because he didn't obey them in succeeding their family business. Instead, he pursued medicine and became a doctor.

"I will miss you Sunghoona~ I think I should've come with you" Heesueng said while hugging him and drinking his beer.

"Ya! Stop that! You gross!" Sunghoon replied

"We will miss you for real Sunghoon hyung. Always update us on your life there, hmn." Riki said while smiling at his hyung.

"Are you sure you still have time for me? You and Jay have been so busy looking for them" Sunghoon teasingly replied.

"HEY! that's not it! We will always have time for you and for these stupid men right here!" Jay exclaimed while earning a laugh from them
 

"Don't worry if I saw them there, I will definitely contact you two. Who knows right?" Sunghoon replied with a soft smile.

"I think my teacher likes Dada Haru" Niki said while playing with his new toy gun. 

They were inside a coffee shop with a mix of a flower shop. This small but pretty coffee shop was owned by Sunoo. Karina is a female beta. She was working with him in the shop.

"Niki stop saying that. What if your Junkyu sensei hears you?" Sunoo scolded his son.

"I'm telling the truth mom; he always asks when will Dada Haru come to school and even smiles sweetly at him" Niki shrugged

"You're really funny you brat!" Karina, Sunoo's assistant, said while ruffling his hair.

"Are you okay with it, mom? You don't like Dada Haru, right? And I know for sure he's not my Dad because kids at school always tell me that I don't look like anyone of you. Even you mom" Niki said while staring at his mom.

Sunoo immediately went to his son, hugging him tight. "They said that? I think I should visit your school one of these days" Sunoo said while caressing the back of this son.

"No, please mom! I can handle them myself! You taught me how to do hapkido right? I'm just gonna kick their ass if they say something funny to our family" Niki said while removing himself from the hug.

Karina secretly smiled. He admires Kim Sunoo. He was a single parent who gives everything to his child.

"YAH! I told you before that those skills are only for self-defense, right? You're not allowed to use that if they are not bothering you." He sighed and continued "I'm sorry you have to experience this" Sunoo said giving his son a sad smile. 

"It's okay mom, it's not your fault. I'm lucky enough to be your son, you're the best mom ever!" Niki said while kissing his mom's cheeks. 

Sunoo thought how lucky he is to have a son like this. He would never tell his son that loving his father, Nishimura Riki, was red.
