The night they disappeared

Flashback (8 years ago)

"YOU SHAMELESS RAT!" Sunoo's stepmom shouted. The whole mansion could hear her raging voice.

"I-I I wanted to see my D-Dad" Sunoo's voice was trembling.

"A bastard like you doesn't have any rights to talk to him. Can you even see yourself!? You're just an illegitimate child to a low-class woman, stop yourself from being entitled" Sunoo's stepmom snickered.

"Please stop bad mouthing my mother. She just passed away. Have some decency" Sunoo rebutted.

"Oh! Did you just say DECENCY!? You? Of all people should know what decency means? Coming back here being pregnant of my future son-in-law's child? You're making me laugh" she angrily exclaimed.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-" he was stopped by a strong slapped. He can even taste the blood from his lips.

"You definitely inherited your mother's genes. From your looks down to your personality. You always wanted to climb the social status. Alluring alphas with high position, you totally made it to the top!" she harshly said.

"Now I'm going to give you two options. First, abort that child. He's just a mistake. Do you even think that Nishimura Riki wants to have a child with you? You are being delusional! He like's Winter. You are never near her compared to beauty and status." She viscously added.

"P-PLEASE! SPARE MY CHILD!" Sunoo pleaded holding his stepmother's hand.

He was pushed harshly to the floor.

"Don't you ever lay your dirty fingers on me. If you really want your child to live, here's your second option. Once you had given birth, give your child to me. I will take care of him. Winter will be his mom and you should vanish. Never show us your face again. He will live the life of a proper heir to the Kim's household." She finished.

"N-No, please! Give me some chance to be his parent. Please don't do this to me" Sunoo cried while pleading.

"It's up on you, what will you choose? Kill your child or abandon him?" She whispered leaving a whimpering Sunoo on the floor. She went back to her room.

When she reached her room, Winter was already there. She was also crying. Her heart was broken into pieces when she heard about Sunoo's pregnancy. It was totally the end of her love to Riki.

"Stop crying. This is not what I planned to do" she deadpanned

"I want you to stop this already mom, this is where I draw the line. I don't want to-" she was also slapped in her face

"YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT I AM DOING THIS FOR YOU! BE GRATEFUL THAT I AM STILL HELPING YOU!" she screamed.

"I don't want your help just leave me alone!" she screamed back

"Weak people like you will never understand. Once you know how to manipulate people, power will be yours. I am helping you to win him back. He's always been in love with you. If that bastard didn't show up to that party, then he was supposed to spend that night with you." she explained

"Wh-what should I do? He doesn't like me anymore" Winter replied

"Go to him tomorrow. Tell him that you're pregnant with his child" she whispered

"B-But I am not pregnant, what if he found out?" Winter worriedly said

"Let me handle everything. Just do what I say" she replied.

"Young Master?" Haruto whispered. Sunoo is still in his room crying. He doesn't know what to do.

"Ha-Haruto?" What are you doing here!? They would kill you if they caught you here!?" Sunoo worriedly said.

"Come with me Young Master. We need to leave this place. I heard what happened, if you stay here, you will also suffer just like your mom" Haruto whispered. 

Of all people in this mansion, Haruto is the only loyal person to his mother. She was like a second mom to him.

"I-I I want to talk to Riki before we leave" Sunoo replied

"I'm sorry young master but we can't do that. Your stepmother already planted spies on the Nishimura's household. We will get caught" Haruto explained

This was the hardest decision that Sunoo made. Leaving everyone around without a word.

"C-Can I talk to Jungwon before we leave?" Sunoo pleaded

Haruto nodded his head. They left the mansion quietly. It was the night that they disappeared.
