As Siddharth made his way down the hospital corridor, his mind buzzed with a mixture of guilt and worry. He knew leaving Avneet alone with their zealous fans was not the ideal choice, but he desperately needed a moment to gather himself. The constant barrage of questions and the sheer intensity of the past hours had taken a toll on him.
Back in the room, Avneet took a deep breath, trying to muster all the patience she could. She turned to Neha and Raj, who were now shifting awkwardly, clearly sensing they might have overstepped their boundaries.
"Ma'am, ma'am," they started calling, their voices laced with urgency. Avneet sighed internally and decided to pretend to be asleep, hoping they would take the hint.
But Neha and Raj persisted. "Ma'am, we know you're not sleeping. We just wanted to say something. Please, hear us one last time."
Avneet opened her eyes, forcing a sweet but slightly strained smile. "Now what?" she asked, trying to keep her tone pleasant despite her exhaustion.
Both together, Neha and Raj blurted out, "Sorry."
Avneet was taken aback. "What?" she asked, genuinely surprised.
"We're really sorry, ma'am," they repeated, their voices filled with remorse.
Avneet, still puzzled, pretended not to understand. "Sorry for what? What are you talking about? Please, don't say this."
"It's so nice of you," Neha began, her voice wavering, "you didn't want to call us out, but we are extremely sorry. We shouldn't have acted the way we did. We made you uncomfortable."
Raj continued, "We started acting weirdly the moment we entered the room. We made you uncomfortable from the start."
Avneet was about to speak, but Neha stopped her. "No, ma'am, please let us finish. We started arguing unnecessarily over things."
"And we didn't let you speak," Raj added. "You and sir were trying to tell us about yourselves, which we asked for. Sorry for that."
Neha nodded, tears brimming in her eyes. "Then we kept disturbing you for photos and asked you about the project."
"And the worst mistake," Raj's voice broke slightly, "we invaded your private moment. We're so sorry for that."
"We are the biggest fans of yours and sir's," Neha explained, her voice filled with emotion. "I mean, we are crazy fans. After seeing you in the room, we freaked out. We couldn't believe you were actually here. That's why we were pinching ourselves and each other. We didn't want it to turn out to be a dream later because we see this dream daily - meeting you both. But today, it actually happened, and we couldn't believe it."
Raj nodded vigorously, his voice reflecting the same intense enthusiasm. "That's why we acted the way we did. We were just so overwhelmed and excited. We apologize if our excitement came across as disrespectful or intrusive."
