december 2023

EMILY AND JAVON sat together on the couch. jaden, jayla, daelo, and his parents were having a conversation.

javon and emily payed no attention, just in their own little world, talking about their future and everything.

they loved each other. no doubt.

"i love you." he said, quiet enough so his family wouldn't hear. emily smiled and blushed slightly.

"i love you too." she whispered, kissing her boyfriends cheek.

CURRENT TIME,,
february 2024

EMILY AND JAYLA sat in jayla's old room with nat, just talking. jayla smiled at nat as nat talked about her upcoming match.

"you guys are cute." emily said, smiling softly. "thanks em," jayla said. nat and jayla smiled and emily looked at her rings on her left hand.

"jay can i best honest?" emily asked, before looking up at jayla. "of course, whatever you wanna talk about." jayla always knew how to help emily. that's one of the many reasons emily loved jayla.

"i know me and javon have been over for a while, but i miss our relationship. i just can't stop thinking about how we dated for two years and suddenly we're just over."

as emily ranted, jayla went over and wrapped her arms around her shoulders in a comforting way.

"i know you do babe, but think about it. if you were meant to be right now, you would. i have full hope one day you will get back together."
nat nodded in agreement to jayla's statement.

"i seen the end of your relationship, honestly i don't get why you ended, but i agree with jayla. you probably will get back together." she said, offering a smile to emily.

emily smiled and nodded. "it's been five months, i just can't move on. i wanna be happy with our friendship, i really do! but i miss everything we did together. everything's different."

emily groaned, just then a knock on the door was heard and the door opened. in walked javon and jaden.

"what's different?" jaden asked, going over and sitting next to emily on the bed.

"something," emily mumbled, javon went over and stood in front of her.

he put his hand on her shoulder and smiled. "em, what's wrong? you can tell me anything. you're my best friend, i'll always be here for you."

emily smiled and nodded. "i know, it's just something stupid."

javon knew what she meant by what was different. he had heard her. but she didn't have to know yet he felt the same.
