Wilbur had given up on his earlier search after searching all possible places, nothing. Eventually he checked his phone, he had a few text messages from Fundy. Fundy was only two years younger than Wilbur, yet still referred to him as an old man.

Fundy had been a freshman in high school when Wilbur was a senior, he ended up driving the younger to and from school daily, helping him understand school work, and in general hanging out with him. Even after he graduated.

Hey Wil?
Wil??
Old guy??
Old man?
I know you're old but damn don't die

jeez

UR ALIVE??

yeah yeah.
what did you want?

Oh yeah
Could I maybe crash at your house for a few days??

sure, do you need me to come get you?

No but i'll be there in a little bit.
Thanks old guy

of course, not a problem.

Wilbur heard the door open, assuming that Tommy must have forgotten to lock it.

Fundy came through, having already abandoned his bag at the door, "You know the front door is unlocked."

"Nope, i'm just guessing Tommy left it that way earlier." Wilbur shrugged.

"Hm." Fundy fell back onto the couch. Wilbur noted how the younger's hair was longer than the last time they saw one another.

Wilbur checked his phone for a second, hoping maybe, just maybe Sally had texted him.

"How are you and uhh.." Fundy waved his hand in the air, thinking for a moment. "Sally?"

Wilbur sighed,  "You've known her for 3 years. You know her name."

He leaned forward to set his phone on the small coffee table.

"..Well?" Fundy propped himself up with his arms,

"Oh, we broke up." Wilbur shrugged.

The younger pulled himself up in a second, sitting up now. "What?! But you would never stop talking about her!"

Wilbur laughed, remembering the countless times he would talk on and on about Sally when he was helping Fundy with school work, when they worked together at the old bakery with Niki, even when they just hung out. A lot of the time he didn't realize it until Fundy said something.

"It's whatever honestly." Wilbur leaned back.

"It's whatever?"

"Yeah."

"Riight.." Fundy drew out the word, obviously being sarcastic if it wasn't obvious enough.
