Revali's POV

Why? Why were we resurrected? I didn't mind coming back to life, but I never expected that it would take two years after Calamity Ganon was defeated!

A lot has happened over these past years. First off, I was more dead than Zelda's mom (She might kill me for saying this later lmao). The divine beasts and all ancient Sheikah technology was destroyed, so the risk of another incident wouldn't occur. Ruta had stopped working, and Zelda thought it might have something to do with Ganon (I think she's dumb because didn't she just seal Ganon away?) Anyways, the world was falling apart like Hyrule Castle during the Calamity and Link was depressed (Womp womp not my problem) and wanted us back.

But why me? He hates me and I hate him...Well, I think he hates me.

I set my bow down against a wooden post of the Flight Range and sighed.

"I got nothing else better to do," I muttered, "and I'm bored out of my mind."

Since I was bored, I decided to fly to the castle to find out why I had been resurrected in the first place. I had to know why, and why it took so long.

When I got to the castle, it was just how it was 100 years ago. Before the Calamity. I could feel the memories coming back. Even with the Calamity, I still feel the same. Zelda told us to continue our role as Champions and enjoy our lives. She even said to make new memories, but I feel the same. Just as I was going through the castle, I saw Link come over. UGH! That Hylian! He looked uglier than I last remembered him. I rolled my eyes as he approached me. He seemed delighted to see me. But then he spoke. He talks?! I thought he was mute. Come to think of it, he did make all those little HYAAA noises. They are annoying and he is annoying. That basically sums him up. All of us Champions thought he was a moving statue. He moved, but never talked.

"So...what are you here for?" Link grinned at me. "Training starts tomorrow!"

"Just need to speak to Prin-Queen Zelda."

"And she still goes by Princess Zelda for some reason..." Link paused as my face became conorted to a look of confusion. Then he continued, "About what?

"It's none of your business, so get out of my way!"

I just shoved him aside and moved on. I had to see Zelda.

"Alright Drumstick!" Link chuckled. "See you later!"

I didn't really care at the moment that he called me that name; I'll take my revenge later (No, I'm not going to kill him!) I made my way through the castle to find Zelda.

Once I entered the throne room, I saw Zelda. And...Urbosa? My Hylia, please don't embarrass yourself! She has a way of remembering the dumb stuff you do and telling the other Champions about it.

"Look! Here is the cucco!" She smiled at me. "We were just talking about you."

"Shut up, Urbosa!"

"Why?"

"If not, I'm gonna shove-"

"Enough fighting!" Zelda grumbled from the throne. "Now Revali, why are you here?"

I swallowed before continuing, "I'm curious why you decided to revive all of us. You know...I thought we all served our purpose as Champions."

"Are you upset with being alive again?" Zelda eyed me suspiciously.

"No, absolutely not." I waved my hands in denial. I was telling the truth. "I'm just confused."

"Little bird was talking about something to do with the Zonai ruins near Highland Stable. Is that what this has to do with?"

Zelda stuttered, "I don't know. I keep having these dreams about Ganon."

"Little bird, it's probably the scary memories of the Calamity and you being trapped in the castle for a century."

"No," Zelda looked at Urbosa solemnly, "this is completely different!"

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"It's not Ganon like the Calamity. No, he took on a different form. He was a Gerudo male. I heard legends about that. Though, the Hyrule in those dreams felt so, how do I say this, new."

The conversation ended there. I didn't know my true purpose about why I was revived. And I'll probably never know.

Rito Village already has people who can take care of the village. That Teba, he's quite impressive. And his son, Tulin, is outstanding as well for his young age. He will grow to be a fine warrior one day.

What am I used for now? Just a war hero forgotten by many in the shadow of some Hylian?

All I hear nowadays is Revali, can I have your autograph or Revali, can we talk for a minute. I usually don't mind it, but it's been ruffling my feathers lately.

My mother used to tell me that Hylia always had a reason for everything...

The rest of my life can't just be the hero that I worked so hard to be but was second to a Hylian who was "chosen by the goddess".

That can't be me. That can't be me again!

So what is my purpose now?
