ebony was really quiet the next day so I decided after 3rd period I'd cheer her up. As we were leaving the class I lightly tapped her shoulder and she immediately flinched away
" don't touch me" she had a deep fear and anger in her eyes but once she saw it was me she relaxed
" oh it's you" she softened up I took note of her reaction " sorry I thought you were someone else"
" nah it's my fault, I just wanted to know know if you wanted to get ice cream with me after school" I noticed how she wasn't looking at me and started to zone out.
" hey earth to ebbs" I waved my hand in her face that was my new nickname for her
she suddenly snapped out of it
" oh sorry I just was up last night studying" I got a feeling she was lying but I didn't want to pry or stress her out
" well if you want to talk I'm here for you" she let out a small smile
" thanks"
I walked her to her locker we developed a routine where if we were going the same way I'd carry her books for her and she agreed to it.
" I really appreciate this" Ebony thanked me, shit I didn't mind doing this for the rest of the school year I just loved being around this girl. She made me feel like I could do anything.
suddenly a girl who was holding a project ran into me. I dropped the books and I was ready to curse when I saw it was a typical volcano project and it was taller than her so she couldn't see me.
" oh my gosh I'm sorry dude" I looked at her she was white and had really bright red hair and deep blue eyes. She helped pick up ebonys books giving them to me and ebony picked up her volcano handing it to her.
" you gotta be more careful next time" ebony mentioned as she stood their politely
" I'm Sarah" she extended her hand out to me I shook it firmly pulling away.
" she's right and what's the volcano for ?" I asked
" a biology project"
I nodded there was an akward silence between us before Sarah broke it.
" well see you around" she even waved at ebony we watched her walk off.
" she seems chill"
" and clumsy" i remarked laughing as she playfully hit my arm
