CHAPTER 1

Dinah PoV

I get to my locker and start to put my books away. My girl Normani comes up and smiles at me.

"Hey DJ. How are you on this fine first day of school?" Normani asks with a huge smile on her face.

"What's got you all smiles?" I inquire suspiciously. My eyes squinting.

"Weeell. I saw Lauren talking to Alexandria Rawlins outside. Alex looks hot in her jock gear Dinah." The last sentence coming out in a teasing way.

I just roll my eyes at her and put my books in my bag. Lauren walks in with the Camila and Ally and we all begin to talk.

All of the sudden we heard guy and girl jocks hooting and hollering. Then walks in Alex Rawlins. She is the Captain of the swim, basketball, and soccer teams.

Alex has medium length brown hair with electric blue eyes. She is 6"6 and crazy beautiful. But she's also annoying and ridiculous.

"Yo Rawlins, ready for another great basketball season?" A booming voice pulls me out of my thoughts. The girls and I turn to the ruckus.

"You know it Chris!" The tall brunette calls back, simultaneously catching a basketball. She does an around the back pass to the guy.

You see, girls teams are the most popular here at Greenwood High. Alex being our star shooting guard, swimmer, and forward. The best of the best. She has to be arrogant...right?

"Lauren. Camila. Ally. Normani." Alex pauses and leans on the locker next to mine, after striding over to us. "Hansen." She finishes with a smirk.

"When are you gonna let me take you out huh?"

"How about a quarter to never? That sound good?" I deadpan.

"Oh come on now Dinah." Before I can reply, her name is called by the school slut, Hazel.

"Oh for fucks sake." She mumbles.

"We're not done here Hansen. But me and my sexy ass gotta jet." She placed a quick kiss on my cheek before bolting. Hazel chased after her while screaming her name.

"Ugh! Will she ever take a hint?" I groan.

"DJ, she's been crushing on you since the 5th grade. Her hope was renewed when you came out as Bi. She's not giving up anytime soon. Plus she's so nice and sweet." Lauren interjected

"Yeah girl. She isn't at all like the others interested in you at this school. She drools over you when we're cheering on the sidelines or at practice." Mani adds.

"She doodles your name on her notebooks in EVERY class." Mila stresses the "every".

"Yall know dayum well that I'm with Nela." Nela plays football, he's a linebacker. He is dreamy af! (A/N nah he look like a thumb) He took me to his senior prom, because he graduated last year.

Last year was the one year I was free of Alex's relentless flirting, because Nela was there. Now I'm at her mercy...which is kind of exciting. No no no I love Nela.

"You know very well that no neck having thumb boy isn't anything compared to Alex." Normani sassed.

I roll my eyes and start walking to my first class. A bunch of guys cat call me and the girls as we walk down the hall. Like seriously?

When I look to my left I finally get to my first period, which is algebra, I sit in the middle row. The bell rings and everyone sits down as the teacher stands.
