Once I climbed out of bed I went to knock on Quinns door but it swung open before I could.

"So you are an early bird?"

"Had no choice but to be while living in the woods."

"I see."

"It's not your favorite word huh?" She teased as she walked past me towards the steps.

"It's not." I called after her. "The stores aren't open yet, so I figured I'd show you around the barn first." She gave a nod. After we ate then we made our way to the barn. Some of the workers were just now coming in. "So, this is Dilia. My horse. I tend to her. No one else does. It's just my way of keeping that strong bond with her."

"I see." She said mocking me." I introduced her to the other horses and what was needed to be done. She was ready to get to work which was a plus sign to me. She grabbed a shovel just as fin came in. Same thing different day. He smiled at me and I forced a smiled back.

"Hi Livia."

"Hey Fin."

"How is your day going?"

"The day is just beginning." I smiled when Quinn said that. It was exactly what I was thinking. He looked at her and he looked mesmerized. Uh oh now he was going to be obsessed with her. I could see it in his eyes.

"Who's your friend?" He asked.

"Quinn this is Fin. Fin this is Quinn. A new worker here."

"Nice to meet you." They shook hands and he continued to stare at her.

"Same here." She said the went to grab a wagon to start cleaning the stalls.

"She's pretty."

"She is." I agreed.

"Is she single?"

"That's something you would have to ask her." He gave a nod.

"Maybe some other time." He said just before walking off. Good he had a crush on her now. Maybe he would leave me alone. I watched as she worked, and she had no shamed in picking up horse shit. She was defiantly not the bougie type although she could pull it off with her beauty.

"You seem as if you know what you're doing." I said and she looked at me smiling.

"I kind of do. I had a few horses of my own a few years ago. This is second hand to me."

"I see. What happened to your horses?"

"After my family died, I just let them go." She sounds sad when she said that, so I dropped it. I knew how she felt but I knew she felt double the pain since both her parents were no longer here.

"I feel safe leaving you here alone."

"I'll be fine."

"Okay." I turned away and made my way to the house. About two hours later she came into the house smelly and all. "Ready for the mall?" I asked and she nodded her head. "First a shower. I'll get you some clothes."
