Two years after the war between the rogues and the village
"KANG HAERIN!"
Danielle's voice echoed with desperation in it as she called the name of the girl who's engulfed in the relentless flames.
Frozen in place, Danielle could only watch in horror as Haerin was consumed by the fire, the shadows slowly enveloping her.
"Haerin, wake up! You're burning, wake up!" she screamed, her heart aching with helplessness.
Suddenly, Danielle woke from her deep slumber. She darted her eyes around and realized she was in her and Hanni's dorm.
The two shared a dorm because Danielle sometimes needed someone to wake her up after the nightmares she had.
"Are you okay, Danielle?" Hanni asked, hurrying over to her.
"Yes, I'm fine. Just nightmares." Danielle replied, standing up to quickly drink some water.
After she had hydrated herself and calmed down for a bit, she looked at Hanni from head to toe. The latter had some paint spilled on her clothes and a smudged paint on her cheeks.
"Hanni, are you painting?" Danielle asked.
Hanni nodded. "It kind of calms me down and brings me comfort." She responded.
"And it makes me feel like she's still here with me."
Danielle smiled sadly at her friend. "How about you, Danielle? Where are you going?" Hanni asked.
"To Haerin. She eases me down."
"Be careful on the road, and it's a bit cold outside. Bring a sweater!"

As Danielle arrived at the local hospital, where physicians used various abilities to heal the villagers, she headed straight to Haerin's room. Upon seeing the younger girl sleeping peacefully, her worries eased.
Danielle sat down and gently held Haerin's hand. "The physician told us there's nothing physically wrong with you," she began. "The only conclusion they could draw from what I told them is that your body couldn't handle the Phoenix's energy, which overwhelmed your physical and mental capacities. That's why you're still asleep."
"But for how long are you going to sleep?"
Danielle sighed, her grip on Haerin's hand tightening. "You have to wake up now, Kang Haerin." She mumbled, with desperation in her eyes.
"Haerin, you have lost two years of your life because of me. I'm sorry, I'm really sorry."
Danielle couldn't hide the guilt she had been feeling as she watched Haerin lying unconscious on the white bed.
Suddenly, the hand Danielle was holding started to move.
"Haerin?" Danielle called out as the sleeping figure began to slowly open her eyes.
Haerin's eyes darted around the room. As they adjusted to the light, she saw Danielle looking at her.
"Haerin." Danielle called out again, her voice trembling with hope.
"Hi. How long have I been asleep? Two hours, eight hours, a day, a week?" Haerin asked groggily.
"Two years."
"What?" Haerin asked, confusion's written on her face.
Danielle sighed before proceeding.
"You've been asleep for two years, Kang Haerin."
