The days Junseo and Iseul spent together had brought them closer than ever. Every evening, their small interactions grew more comfortable, filled with shared jokes and personal stories. Junseo found himself looking forward to spending time with her, feeling a warmth in Iseul’s presence that he hadn’t experienced before.
He can’t deny how he loved the way Iseul laughed. It sounded so genuine and carefree, the kind of laugh that made Junseo's heart feel lighter every time he heard it. When she laughed, her eyes sparkled and her nose crinkled slightly, making it impossible not to smile along with her.
“So,” Iseul began with a mischievous grin, “if you had to choose between only eating ramyeon for the rest of your life or never eating it again, what would you pick?”
Junseo pretended to ponder the question seriously, tapping his chin. “Hmm, that’s a tough one. But I think I’d have to go with only eating ramyeon. After all, it brought us together, didn’t it?”
Iseul laughed, the sound making Junseo’s heart skip a beat. “Good answer! But you’d miss out on so many other delicious foods.”
“True,” Junseo said, leaning in slightly. “But I’d trade all those other foods for more moments like this.”
Iseul blushed slightly, rolling her eyes in mock exasperation. "Oh, please. You and your cheesy lines."
Before Junseo could respond, the chime of the door interrupted them. A customer walked in, and Iseul had to attend to her duties. Junseo watched her from his seat, unable to wipe the grin off his face. Even from afar, he continued to tease her, making silly faces whenever she glanced his way.
Iseul struggled to keep a straight face as she helped the customer, occasionally shooting Junseo a mock glare that only made him laugh harder. When she finally finished, she walked back over to him, shaking her head.
"You’re such a dork." Iseul said as she playfully hit his arm.
"And yet, here you are, willingly spending your breaks with me," Junseo shot back, his grin widening.
As Junseo walked home, the night air cool against his skin, he couldn’t stop thinking about Iseul.
Her laughter, her kindness, and the way she listened to him without judgment—all of it made him realize just how special she was to him. The way he felt when he was around her was something he hadn’t experienced before. It hit him then, a realization that made his heart skip a beat.
He might have already fallen for her.
